Suggestions & Concerns / PSA: Don't PM me for direct moderation action
« on: May 04, 2020, 04:24:50 PM »
There's a trend that's been developing recently. People report posts and when the matter is not immediately dealt with, they PM me to inform me that they've placed a report. You know who you are, and there are many of you. Too many.
Don't do that. This forum has multiple moderators and an active admin. The point of the report system is that it alerts them all. The first person available will look at your report and decide whether it merits action or further discussion. PM'ing me will not speed this process up.
If you have questions about something that for whatever reason can't be raised via an S&C thread, or if you want to discuss something I've personally done as moderator: by all means, go ahead. But, moving forward, I will be deleting any PM's telling me to look at a report without providing a response.
Thanks for your understanding.

Announcements / "Mad" Mike Hughes - an untimely departure.
« on: February 23, 2020, 05:12:24 PM »
Yesterday, the Flat Earth movement has lost a dear friend.
Michael Hughes - inventor, daredevil, and a self-proclaimed madman, has taken one final leap into the sky in a self-constructed steam-powered rocket as part of a Science Channel series he was to star in. He lost his life in a tragic accident
A Guinness World Record holder for the longest limousine ramp jump, Mike never shied away from controversy and danger. It coursed through his veins. His bold, outspoken attitude will be greatly missed by all.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family in these trying times. It is my hope that Mike has found whatever it was he was looking for in this crazy world.
Godspeed, Michael, you glorious bastard.

Flat Earth Community / Request for questions: Steven Smith/KISS radio
« on: January 30, 2020, 12:27:26 PM »
Hi all,
KISS, a UK radio station, reached out to us via Twitter. They will be talking to former NASA astronaut Steven Smith tomorrow, and they were wondering if we might have any questions for him.
I offered to open the floor to our regulars (RE'ers and FE'ers alike), so here it is. If you have any questions for Steven, please post them here and I'll provide the station with a link to this thread.
Please note that my role in all this is very limited - I was asked if we may have any questions, so I've facilitated a platform through which we can ask them. I will not be involved in any selection of questions, nor can I promise that this thread won't be entirely ignored. Hopefully it will result in an interesting exchange.

Flat Earth Projects / "Phases of the Moon" and "The Phases of the Moon"
« on: December 07, 2019, 05:15:58 PM »
Currently, the Wiki has two pages on lunar phases:
-Phases of the Moon redirects to a section of the Electromagnetic Acceleration page
-The Phases of the Moon appears to be a separate page, which also includes a link to the EA page for more details.
Is the page starting with "The" necessary, or should it be merged?
