No, Rushy misunderstood. I did start by saying this would be a waste of my time as most people on this forum don't have degree level mathematics. Rushy, being one of them.

I am not even sure where this conversation is going anymore. But, okay, whatever you say.

I say Ebola is not going to be a pandemic. It's mathematically impossible and genetically impossible.

Right back on topic. :-)

It's not impossible. Just unlikely.

Not worth punting $1bn on then? Great, you agree with me.

Nope. Ebola is terrible and we are capable of helping them so why shouldn't we?

Wow, it was pretty entertaining watching Thork dodge my response for a whole page. What whacky nonsense will he come up with next? Also, all four points are of the utmost correctness, which is why you bothered to argue with all zero of them. "These are so wrong I just can't tell you how wrong they are! Haha!" Gee. How believable.

This is what it's like for the rest of us whenever we argue with you.

Except the only long winded arguments I get into here are opinionated nonsense and have no factual answer.

Morrowind is generic fantasy and someday you'll just have to accept that.

Because we could help far more people with $1bn dollars.

But would we help them if we weren't spending that money on Ebola? I somehow doubt it. The money to fight Ebola isn't coming out of malaria grants. We're only spending it at all because we're scared, and it's probably worthwhile to actually study Ebola for a while. It's not the most contagious or dangerous disease, but it still sucks pretty bad.
That's how far the horizon is, not how far you can see.

It actually is one of the most dangerous diseases only mitigated by it not being as contagious as an airborne virus.  It has one of the highest fatality rates among diseases that have no treatment.  And in the top two for viruses.

It normally kills about 100 people a year world wide! this year a few more. Get some perspective and stop being so fast to throw your money away.

FTFY.

Yes, when it kills 100 people we do not invest sums of money to stop it do we?  Only when it goes on a rampage, and is looking to get worse, not better.

If 10,000 new cases a week start rolling in, that is 7,000 deaths/week.  This is almost double the amount of US casualties in the entirety of the Iraq war.. every week.  If we can help stop it, why wouldn't we?  What would you use the money for?

Its no where near the amount of casualties of the war if you take into consideration both sides. 7000 deaths a week is still nothing and we are no where near.
