The Queen herself is an authority above the highest law in the land -

https://royalcentral.co.uk/features/insight/is-the-queen-really-above-the-law-1625/

From their homepage;

Quote
"Royal Central is the most popular independent source for royal news on the web. Launched back in 2012 in the wake of the Diamond Jubilee, Royal Central originally began life on Twitter under the account name @RoyalFactsUK – an account dedicated to tweeting facts about Monarchies around the world.

We produce a wide range of content about royalty all around the world, though we specialise in the British Royal Family. From opinion pieces, to breaking news stories and from royal photos to on-the-ground coverage of big engagements – we really do cover it all!

WHO RUNS ROYAL CENTRAL?
Royal Central is run by a small team of editors who are responsible for commissioning and editing all of Royal Central’s content. Our content, meanwhile, is sourced from a number of different kinds of contributor. A team of dedicated reporters deal with the majority of our news coverage, while our feature writers post anything from historical insight to commentary on current royal issues. We also accept contributions from guest writers (including in the past TV presenters, authors and other famous faces)."

.... so it has no official status; it's an extension of a Twitter gossip page.

We don't have a Prince Andrew thread, so here it is. The latest news appears to be that Prince Andrew has disgraced his family, his country, and and has been stripped of his military titles and patronages over the debacle.

Do you think anyone similarly accused of participating in the Epstein debacle should also be considered to have brought disgrace upon their country, family, et al ... ?

Flat Earth Community / Re: Flat Earth maps?

Patently untrue.

Why? Just because you say so?

There is a recommended route to many destinations, but no agreed upon map, even for RE.

Again, why? Because you say so?

I said there's an agreed map, and gave reason why. Do you have any reasons?

... why are you convinced about RE when there is no agreed upon map?

There is an agreed-upon map.

If there were not, international travellers would be getting lost, every day. The fact that they all get to their destinations, whether by international flight, ocean voyage, by train or by motor vehicle, is the proof the map is agreed.

Actually Biden continues to be a deeply unpopular president. Your claim that people have changed their opinion on him since September is what needs evidence, rather than assumed.

What do you actually WANT your President to do?

Can you name, say, half a dozen bullet points?

... NASA has been caught lying on DOZENS of occasions, we have video and other proof.

Even if that were true, what have NASA got to do with the shape of the Earth?

First orbital craft - Russian
First man in space - Russian
First space walk - Russian
First woman in space - Russian
etc

I thought that was a pretty neat shot...  It doesn't say much to me about the overall shape of the earth..

If there are sufficient landmarks or other geographical features, and a reasonably cloudless sky, then, as with the Red Bull Space Jump footage, it can be determined whether or not the landmarks are within the viewing scope of a spherical cap, based on the orbital height or altitude of the craft.

What I've seen of the Inspiration footage thus far seems plagued by cloud, though...

If the earth is round - 620, but if it is flat, then much more. We found an excellent starting point, there are many points at various distances, good visibility.

OK.

What landmarks or geographical features do you have in mind, apart from those already named?

I've had a look at the area, and it seems largely unpopulated, so no large urban areas to focus on ...

we want to see Baikal, Novaya Zemlya, and maybe Greenland

Lake Baikal?

yes, about 2000 km

If you get to 30km altitude, I predict your limit of line-of-sight visibility from your craft will be around 620km.

The Red Bull Space Jump was at 39km, and it had visibility of around 706km.

I suggest you look to identify landmarks and geographical features within 600km of your launch site.

Off-duty Chicago police officer (Bunge) charged with shooting at two people sitting in their car

https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2021/03/20/chic-m20.html

"... thought the GPS was giving them the wrong directions, so he pulled over to check it and parked behind Bunge’s car. Some moments later, Bunge appeared standing in front of their car and opened fire.

Video footage released by the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) confirms this. The footage shows only Ramirez and Orozco parking behind Bunge’s car. It does not, as Bunge alleged, show anyone walking outside or getting into their car. It does, however, show Bunge firing upon the two men and Orozco driving away backwards in attempt to avoid the bullets.

Bunge is charged with aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated discharge of a firearm and has been stripped of police powers."

The man, Brady Mistic, said he was wrongfully jailed for four months over the incident on Sept. 17, 2019. He is suing Officers Nicholas Hanning and Ellie Summers, as well as the city of Idaho Springs and the Clear Creek County Board of Commissioners."

When you say "for 30 kilometers", please clarify - are you saying you will be going to a height / altitude of 30km?

If not, what height do you expect to reach?

Could I ask where the launch site will be?

30 hours of silence from the Inspiration4 crew after the launch. Only a few pictures of the crew in the dragon capsule. No non-fisheye-lens images of earth. They aren't giving me what I'd hoped for to have a conversation in this forum on this topic. Still waiting...

Betcha they're saving the best for the in-flight episode of the Netflix documentary.

One of the astronauts posted a 360 pan around the view from the cupola. No fish-eye there. It's on twitter.

Those are some great photos but what do they prove? They, alone, cannot prove that the ISS is a real "spaceship" with people onboard ...

So ... the natural thing to do is consider the other evidence apart from the photos, surely?

The videos of spacewalks and other activities.
Ham radio enthusiasts communicating with the occupants as it passes overhead
Photos of it in transit over the Moon
Personal observations of it from the surface of the Earth, sometimes twice in one evening
Personal accounts from both professional astronauts and private travellers who paid handsomely for the chance to go there
etc
etc

Can you draw it on a piece of paper, and scan it, or draw it in a drawing program or app?

an apologist for everything Trump did.

What exactly did Trump do? I'd be interested to know the terrible things he did. Based on his actions and policies, I'd say he was a reasonably good president. I mean, he didn't surrender to the Taliban and leave £billions of military hardware in Afghanistan. He didn't read everything from a teleprompter and only take questions from pre-selected journalists. He knew what day of the week it was.

Tell me ... what was the terrible thing Trump did?

Spent almost one-quarter of his presidency away from the office, on his golf courses, charging the American taxpayer for his own secret service detail to be accommodated there. Was nowhere to be seen during lame duck period. There was, and still is, a pandemic raging, and he wasn't going to accomplish anything by schmoozing with his buddies on the course, or at the nineteenth hole.

Do we need to point out how he favoured Fox and OANN in the briefing room? "Didn't favour certain journalists", my a*se...

How many times did he do phone-ins with Fox and OANN, compared with MSNBC, CNN etc. ?

He wanted to leave a ship of COVID patients moored offshore to keep the numbers of onshore cases down.

He mismanaged the pandemic. He shredded a bucketload of worthwhile environmental legislation, for no good reason than Obama had legislated it. The prime driver behind his presidency seemed to be revenge on Obama for embarassing him at the correspondents' dinner.

"He knew what day it was" - especially at the weekend. See above

etc

etc
