On a sphere (lol) either north or south at any given point on earth? No definitive direction.

On a sphere, Northwards, on a flat Earth, Hubwards, on the rare interpretation of a south-centric flat Earth, Rimwards.

*As an aside, 'On a Sphere, Northwards' might be the name of my first short story collection.

On a sphere, you are moving towards the zenith of the North Pole. Whatever tangent you are walking on will eventually hit a point directly above the North Pole, depending on where you are starting from.

But wait! If you start at or below the equator you will never reach the zenith of the North Pole!

From what perspective?  On the Earth, over the Earth, over the solar system, galaxy, or universally?

Unless you are walking backwards.

I guess since the starting point can be anywhere in the universe, you are definitely moving towards the north pole.

Unless you are walking backwards.

I guess since the starting point can be anywhere in the universe, you are definitely moving towards the north pole.

If you're going backwards you are not heading towards the north pole. Don't think of the direction in terms of a body orientation.

If you're several miles directly above the hub and falling, are you going north?
That's how far the horizon is, not how far you can see.

But the question is asking which direction are you traveling.  Not heading.  If you are going backwards, you can still be travelling towards the north pole.

Given the parameter of "any given point"  (on the surface, underground, out in space, etc) my answer is 'toward the north pole'.

The "North Pole" is just a made up name for the center of the Universe.  That is why literally everything points north.  Even a pizaa will align itself naturally with the polar center of our universe.
