Receiving aid is one thing. A country joining you in battle is another. During the Revolutionary War the French joined America in battle, and it's questionable that the colonists could have won without that. In this case with Ukraine no one is willing to join them in battle. They have been asking for countries to step in, but have been rejected by every western power. So it's a clear loss.
Because then they'd declare war against Russia and that could escelate to WW3.
It could also have escalated to Russian withdrawal. Russia acknowledges that they wouldn't be in Ukraine if Ukraine were in NATO. So it is clear that the western powers stood by watching Ukraine beg for more direct help as they were slaughtered.
And the war started BECAUSE they wanted to join NATO. Catch 22 there.
Also, its rather odd that you happily support a country that slaughters people.
Uhhh... There is no mention that these people worked there since the department was created. It should also be noted that it's irrelevant. Obama himself did not hire them nor were they hired for political reasons nor did Trump fire them if they were there since Obama.
So what is your point? That people who were part of a department that Obama setup are politically motivated and loyal to Obama and thus are leaving because Trump is president?
If they were part of a prior agency that was turned into DOGE it is somewhat inaccurate to say that the DOGE team is quitting.
They were working on DOGE projects so I'd call that quitting DOGE. Unless you think they should say they're quitting the agency that doesn't exist anymore. But that would be confusing.
https://fox2now.com/news/national/no-savings-expected-from-nearly-40-of-doge-canceled-contracts/?fbclid=IwY2xjawIsZ-VleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHTlGk08XskaFi_IRgUrft8-br1FipMyN2HNhcfo778aCJO1sJ8fHGZuPEQ_aem_AwXrXTNYqy-2atWC6sbkyQ
Now, why would they proclaim savings on things that wouldn't save anything?
Could it be all a show? Or are they just that inept at the job?
Sounds like a cope to me. The contracts we canceled, so even if a subscription or service was already paid yearly for the period by the time Trump got into office, it will stop recurring charges. The article concedes that many of those have not been paid, which means that it is directly saving money this year as well.
Yeah but it's a lie. Or at least misleading.
Example: they canceled the sesame street in Iraq grant.
They claimed it was 1.5 million saved.
But it's not. That was the total amount the contract/grant paid out since 2022. It saves 500,000/year. Which is what we're all assuming.
So they are inflating their numbers by using items, contracts, grants, and totals already paid, not will be paid. You can't say "I saved $2,400" by canceling a $20/month Netflix subscription you've had for 10 years. Which is what musk is doing to make his numbers look bigger than they are. And you know it!
