Sometimes ... if you listen really closely in a thunderstorm, you can hear the breath of God ... "I didn't create Adam and Steve! >o<"

I've never heard that. Source?
Thunderstorms. God has a pretty deep voice cos he's a very big guy. He tends to boom when he talks.

1.6 million people died of AIDS-related illnesses worldwide in 2012.
http://www.who.int/gho/hiv/en/
Flu: Worldwide, these annual epidemics are estimated to result in about 3 to 5 million cases of severe illness, and about 250 000 to 500 000 deaths.
http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs211/en/
Every day in 2012, malaria killed more than 1,200 children under age 5—a total of 450,000 children a year
http://data.unicef.org/child-health/malaria
There are an estimated 200 000 cases of yellow fever, causing 30 000 deaths, worldwide each year, with 90% occurring in Africa.

Ebola is just one more to the list of horrible things. It has a disadvantage in that it kills people very quickly. If the game Pandemic has taught us anything, it's that you need to keep your hosts alive as long as possible if you want a humanity-killer.

Except Ebola isn't on a par with any of these diseases. You just quoted it. Malaria kills more children in 3 days than this disease has in this outbreak.

In fact there are no lethal diseases that are as small right now as Ebola. None even close. The worldwide attention for such a meagre death rate is astonishing. It is just scaremongering to have people think their governments are protecting them. Expect greater surveillance of citizens as a result under the guise of 'protecting from Ebola and other 'pandemic' diseases'.

If Ebola spread to the degree that malaria did, it would kill many many more people. Hence the need for prudence.

Ok, its just you don't need to keep hosts alive for long to be a humanity killer. The black death killed in under 40 days. Sometimes in under 24 hours. Like ebola its tactic is to fell its victim and then infect scavengers as the juices and liquids seep from the rotting victim. same game, different tactics. I think I just lost the thread of your argument.

It won't. Contact to contact is a slow way to spread a disease. Fast spreading need to be airborne (like influenza), waterborne (like cholera)in places with poor water treatment facilities or via carriers (like Malaria).

I would go so far as to hypothesize that the allegedly involved countries don't even exist.

We agree that ebola isn't a pandemic type disease.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ebola_outbreaks
^History tells us that.

Compare how fast the common cold spreads compared to ebola. If the common cold was a killer, people would have ceased to exist a very long time ago. Everyone has had a cold at some point.

And that's by and large how viruses work. If they infect lots of people quickly, they tend not to be killers. If they are deadly they either break out very rarely or do not have much impact.

Ebloa breaks out regularly and is deadly. Ergo, its not going to spread. Nature is pretty good at balancing things like that. You might argue plague spreads fast and kills, but it doesn't do it every few years like ebola. Any virus that kills everything it touches isn't going to have anything else to live off. So it will cease to exist and ... they don't.

Ebola hasn't spread very far because during every instance of outbreak, millions of dollars were thrown into containing it. It didn't just magically disappear on its own. You're suffering from "wet roads cause rain" logic.

It didn't magically appear in 1976 either. Before 'millions of dollars' could be thrown at it, Africans didn't all die because everyone and every animal in Africa had Ebola. I don't know why American's think throwing millions of dollars at things has amazing results (See Iraq War) and that the world would cease to exist without America and its borrowed money.

I'm starting to see lots of paranoid reports of people who think they have it but don't. Damnit, Channel 2 that is not news! I hate pandemic scares.
Did you see channel 5's story about the plane medical emergency?  "Ebola scare quarantines Nashville flight, person has no contact with ebola and there was no concern they had it, but ebola caused the quarantine anyway! "
Yeah, it was a flight from Dallas so they were extra careful.

Hey, wait a minute

CDC confirms first Ebola case in the United States.

I'm not worried. Consider this: the Flu kills more people in a year in the United States, than Ebola has ever killed in the world since the 1970's.
