I watched Birds of Prey, or whatever its name is supposed to be. For a movie that's trying way too hard to be a distaff Deadpool, it's actually pretty good. Certainly better than Aquaman, not quite as good as Shazam! or Wonder Woman. The action is easily its biggest strength, being raucous and energetic, choreographed with flair and creativity, and full of comic grisliness. It's a lot like a more fanciful John Wick. The cast is great, especially Ewan McGregor as a ridiculous villain, and I had a few laughs too. The movie's main issue is that there's just too many characters and not enough time to spend on them. I'm really surprised they kept the runtime under two hours. This movie definitely could have used another ten or fifteen minutes with the characters, especially Huntress, who by far has the least screen time of the main characters. She's also the funniest, largely due to Mary Elizabeth Winstead's portrayal of her as a wannabe edgelord.

It's a shame this didn't do better at the box office. It's a decent movie, and it's nice that they gave a chance to an up-and-coming young director who isn't a privileged, well-connected white guy for once. Like I said, the R rating was a clear mistake, driving away the family and teen audiences. If there's any positive to this, at least it might kill off the dumb gimmick of making R-rated capeshit for the sake of it.

the combat is in every way harder
Good.
wilder
Good.
and more chaotic
Good.
with more enemies
Good.
more waves of enemies
Good.
more enemies with particular weaknesses you need to remember to exploit, and so on.
Good.
The ammunition you can carry is extremely limited, too, and it feels like a cheap handicap to pump up the game's difficulty.
A non-issue. There's almost always a weak enemy around you can gut-fuck with the chainsaw for ammo.

The first new Doom was boring, so I won’t be playing Eternal. Whoa, kill monsters with metal music playing. So cool.
Maybe you just hate fun.

Literally my least favorite thing about DOOM Eternal is the reveal that the Doom Slayer is actually Doomguy from the previous games in the series. It makes the universe feel so much smaller. And what makes it worse is that Doomguy is portrayed as a nut ranting at strangers about how he needs to kill all the demons.
Maybe you just hate fun.

DOOM Eternal 10/10 GOTY 2020

tbh it probably isn't even the best game released on 20 March, 2020...

I haven't completed it yet but so far there isn't anything that is an improvement on the previous game.
nice onion

The movie wasn't good, but I've decided to like it just to spite sadaam.

Okay but you failed to mention the biggest problem with the game.

Why get rid of them now?
Maybe they blew the budget on tank battles.

Shazam! Was ok. p. funny at times but the kids were annoying and kinda ruined it. Aquabro was better.

I acquired Dauntless back when it was released for free on the Epic store (hi sadaam), but I started playing it just a few days ago. I find it to be a decent alternative to Monster Hunter World which runs at 25-40 FPS on my potato even on all the lowest settings, which is utterly unacceptable. It's fun for the most part and runs well, but some of the beasties has got some really dumb gimmicks which can be annoying, but 7/10, p. good for being Monster Hunter with Fortnite graphics...
