he's into the Germans for a third of a billion dollars. But they weren't totally stupid, they have the pink slip to Mar-A-Lago as collateral.

Can’t wait til they take over ... do you think they could pull off a re-brand though? Meer zu see doesn’t quite roll off the tongue…

Seabirds - donkeys MNF match was a delightful mess. Pure delicious irony to that finish.  Will likely be our only win for the next little bit

Seems like NG just came along to film it, and weren't responsible for protocol or method

Sure but if they film, edit, produce, release, and promote it - the blame for the content is theirs to share.

I feel her love this day, as I did on my first day, as I will all my days.

She’ll be missed. Despite what I think of royalty in general and their uselessness in modern society, she’s always seemed like a pretty nice lady.

A lot of money is about to look different. Yuck.

It had been starting to actually feel like she’d love forever. End of an era for sure.

Football of the NFL variety is back. This is good for everyone. Except my team, but that’s OK.

Thanks Joe Biden!

..... justify the personal irresponsibility of women.

Of course you meant, once again, to say the irresponsibility of men.  Either that or you're simply a sexist who thoroughly enjoys the patriarchy that the U.S. has always been and seems to be heading even further to being.

Men are already responsible. If a woman decides to have the baby, the man is responsible to support it by law and can't walk away. The man is sentenced to 18 years of labor to support the child. When a man complains the societal response is "Your fault, pay up!"

If the woman decides not to have the baby, she can do so without repercussion. She is not held to the same standards to be compelled to support her baby and can choose to kill it and escape responsibility.

Care to actually discuss what you said.  You were 100% blaming the woman for being "irresponsible" and getting pregnant.  It had nothing to do with legal responsibilities afterward.  Your statement was wholly to say that it is the woman's fault she's  pregnant.  This isn't the first time you've said it.  Nice try at deflecting and trying to say it was about something else.
95% percent of the time, it is her fault.
60% of the time, it’s her fault every time 8)

Yeah.  It's unfortunate that Russia doesn't have a real film industry.  I would love to see ww2 war movies from their perspective.

Jude Law, Ed Harris and some other people would like a word.

Always knew that Helen Keller was up to no good… thank you for showing us the truth

Yeah, it’s there to keep those tea-drinking red coats off your farm too!

Yeah but now they’ve got even more freedom! Right? That’s how this works?

The freedom to die.

Unless you want medical assistance in death, which is still totally illegal because the gov doesn’t want to get involved in medical decisions, or some other form of mental gymnastics, I’ve lost track.

Since you asked, my view is that if there is a God, then the Bible is the words of human beings trying their best to describe their interactions with a divine being, with all the flaws that humans have when they write about things. This explains all of the inconsistencies and difficulties in interpretation, while being perfectly consistent with a supernatural deity who created all of us and everything around us.

I feel like I agree with this, but I also can’t help but feel like there are elements in the Bible that are there only to benefit people in positions of power. There are too many things left out in not the OT and NT for it to be just the attempts of a few people to describe and catalog their brushes with the divine.

Yes. But. No-one should be going at 90 - or even 70 - right up the arse of the car in front.

Have you met city drivers?

You can’t make laws based on the skills of the more competent and reasonable parts of the population unfortunately. If you raise the speeds of the average of the flow of traffic, you raise the speed of the average impact.

I spend a lot of time on the road and while I’d agree that many posted limits are on the conservative side. Spiking them up too far would have some very notable consequences.

People just aren’t smart enough (or at least they overestimate their own skills - something like 80% of drivers think they’re better than average) to reliably adjust their habits based on traffic volume, weather, road conditions, and construction/workers on roadsides.

I think that what you’re saying would be true for a homogenous object with regular dimensions and even mass distribution with no other external forces acting on it.

But the earth ain’t those things.

That’s funny because the highest posted speed limits I’m aware of in North America are 80mph. 80 seems plenty fast even on a continent this size and an interstate highway that smooth. Still took like 6 hours to cross Montana though :/

Guess it just comes back to the old saying that Europeans think 100km is a long way and North Americans think 100 years is a long time.

Arguing semantics to try to goad people into a debate about bringing cameras into a hospital. Sounds fun
