Flat Earth Theory / Re: New Map Idea (South Centered)
« on: January 05, 2021, 07:57:41 PM »
Im sorry I don't have exact distances for you, paper and pen is all I have right now and imperfect math skills.

But, because I lowered the southern latitudes then America should be similar in shape and distance to what we see today.  Alaska is longer and taller in this model.

Its the similarities in shape and distance of the countries that make me choose this model.

Well, first theres Antartica.  I believe it exists.  I know traval times accross America and other places are an issue with a traditional south map projection, but these alterations help make these continents more recognizable.  I can't speak much for the North centered and Bi-Polar maps,  except that the biggest alterations to a map like this are in places least explored like the far north.

Flat Earth Theory / New Map Idea (South Centered)

Hi All,

Im a big fan of the South Centered Flat Earth Map.  Attached is a draft at What I think the earth looks like.   You'll notice I shrunk the Southern portion of the map, kept the middle, and enlarged the north.  Horizontally, I doubled the size of Greenland and let everything else follow.

Thhis would have had to be mapped out years ago during a period of very warm weather where the worlds ice melted and revealed these lands.

Good luck with the podcast and thank you for bringing up an important experiment I hadn't looked into.  My journey consisted of a few YouTube videos about flat earth which looked interesting at the time.  Honestly, conversing with nature, experiment, and talking with folks I'm more if a believer then not, but always seekngo understand a more accurate view of things.

Indulge my theory for one sec.  What if the sun was actually behind the image you see in the sunset.   Like, what if the sun was travelling in front of its reflection, and was beyond human sight.

Okay, I can't really miss my opportunity to chime in here.  To answer the threads creator, it's not an easy answer.   It's almost a little sad really.  Why aren't all people and all children told the truth about everything and everybody all the time?  Because sometimes that may not benefit the well being of the child or everyone at large.

It's my belief that the round earth phenomenon was propped up after WW2 in an effort to separate two warring bodies of people.  The great thing about science is that you don't really need a textbook to get to the truth.   And the better news is I think the world is ready for the truth and anything held "top secret" no longer needs to be hidden.  The knee jerk reaction we all share when first learning about flat earth theory is slowly fading and a more intelligent/friendly conversation can commence.

I can just also say, learning about other science ideas has not changed me.   It's just made me a more understanding person.

That was a great response, I appreciate the info.  The only point I'd make is that some flat earthers like me believe the firmament is below the sun and moon and thus helps explain A lot of phenomena in certain FE models like 24/7 light in certain places as the sun's rays literally wrap around the dome...  or just the general appearance of the sun, moon, and stars as there image is distorted 😼

Thanks, and I totally respect your views and position. I can't postulate any further because the word "firmament" goes back to biblical cosmology and in biblical context is open to wide interpretation.  You might find the following useful/interesting?

https://www.kjvbible.org/firmament.html
https://biologos.org/articles/the-firmament-of-genesis-1-is-solid-but-thats-not-the-point

I cannot find anything in the Wiki here explaining what the firmament is believed to be, and a search of the forums didn't yield too much either to confirm something one way or the other.  Does it represent the atmosphere above the Earth, or does it represent a discreet, physical barrier that stops the atmosphere from escaping out into space?  I don't know, and being open to vast interpretation, am not going to say.  Modern flat Earth models seem to agree that the Sun and Moon are within a hemispherical region of space, directly above the Earth, and that the stars and other interstellar objects are in a layer above the Sun and Moon, either in, or projected onto this "dome" that we talk about.

Is this hemispherical region an actual barrier or a theoretical one?  The flat Earth Wiki suggests that while the diameter of the Earth is 25,000 miles (the bit that the Sun can illuminate), the actual diameter of the Earth is much wider than this.  But, here's the crux of the problem.  Based on what I've read and understood, we can't get to the dome for some reason, the dome contains everything we could ever observe, and so by definition we cannot get outside of that dome to observe it and prove its existence.  Convenient?  To me that just says "we can't explain it", because logic dictates that if it was a physical barrier, we would have crashed into/bumped into it by now, and if it wasn't a physical barrier, we would have travelled beyond it by now.  You see the issue I have with comprehending it?  I know there are videos of rockets/spacecraft exploding, and claims that they do so because they hit the barrier, but those have to be consigned to NASA conspiracy for now, which is going off-topic.

I see that you are gravitating to certain notions of the "Dome".  I'd keep an open mind.   I'd go as far to say there are a few "layers" of thick atmosphere that people could consider domes.   Even close to earth are stratification of the atmosphere going from solid water, to the troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, temperatsphere, exosphere etc...

Hi,

Regarding your belief in the ozone layer of the atmosphere being the firmament, do you believe that man has flown, or rocketed, or ballooned past this ozone firmament? (the ozone layer is 9 to 18 miles above the Earth's surface)

Or, do you believe that man cannot pass the ozone firmament?

Thank you.

Yes, totally, I believe space craft have travelled beyond this layer of the atmosphere.

No I haven't heard this idea among other flat Earthers.  It's my interpretation of the data..

I personally the firmament is the same thing as what's talked about in the RE community.  It's a later of dense atmosphere above the earth.

Hi,

I don't believe RE community talks about or believes in a layer of dense atmosphere above the Earth.

RE community believes that the higher one goes in altitude, the less dense the atmosphere becomes.

For the FE firmament theory, is FE belief then the opposite of this?
....i.e. the higher one goes in altitude, the MORE dense the atmosphere becomes until there is a really dense layer?

Thank you.

I believe it's the Ozone layer im talking about.   Its the layer in the atmosphere with the most Ozone as you go up.

Thanks for your input.  I looked into it and your right, its calked the "Twilight Effect" when contrails illuminate from the sun.  https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twilight_phenomena

**but im still going to hold on to my idea of ionization playing a part in this**

the contrail anamoly starts at 5:32.   The rockets contrail is lighting up in two different locations.  i think its the powerful rocket exciting and ionizing the atmospheric particles which causes them to glow.   you see the same lighting effect with lightening, intense heat, and other phenomena.  at least that's my analysis so far. :P

its rocket #5 starting around 4:30 seconds.   theres clearly a blue haze illuminating the sky and theres no other clouds lit up.  i don't have any other explanation.

Here's a great video of rockets hitting the dome !!!   You ain't leaving boys and girls, deal with it.

i think its interesting how the contails remain luminated behind the rocket!  im guessing its the ionization of the upper atmosphere that causes this.   the same phenomina i think causes the nirthern and southern Auroras and is maybe the reason why the sky lights up during the day as the sun ionizes and excites the atmospgere which causes it to glow.  if someone has anything to add please do.

You understand that these images are colourised? They wouldn’t actually look like that if you were there.
And the are you are talking about must be light years across.

Okay, I've done some research on Nebulae and from what I'm hearing is that these colors are sometimes Natural.   Other Times Nebulae are sortof colored Blue for oxygen, Green for a Oxygen Hydrogen Mix and Dusty Red or Brown when Dust is present.  But these may kinda be the actual colors to.  However, sometimes Hydrogen is represented as red which makes Nebulae like this look entirely Red, soo.

In terms of distance, this is obviously a hot topic among Round Earthers and Flat Earthers alike.   So how big this is is something debatable IMO.
