I was hoping to get an incite into the Theory's and beliefs that some/all Flat Earthers have (Answer any of these)

1.What made you join the Flat Earth Society and accept its beliefs?
2.What scientific proof do you have/or have found for the Flat Earth Theory?
3.If the rest of the planets have been seen to be round/ish what makes the Earth special?
4.Why would the government (NASA, CIA, etc) and private companies (SpaceX, Blue Origin, SpaceDev) say the Earth is round and supposedly lie?
5.How does it feel to have your beliefs rejected by a large portion of the population? (not intended to be mean)
6.If the Earth were to be proven flat once and for all how would you react?
7.If the Earth were to be proven round once and for all how would you react?

Please keep in mind i do not want to seem mean or arrogant i just want to know your thoughts and opinions please, don't ban me :)

I'm not going to write an essay response.

1. I was curious, I visited, it made sense, I joined.
2. There is no one thing. It is the combination of proofs that complete the puzzle.
3. Who knows what makes it special? God? But it is special. Its also the only place with complex life, so accepting it is special is a good starting point.
4. ??? Profit
5. Who cares? Lots of people think the Kardashians are interesting. And yet they think we are the idiots.
6. I'd make a thread saying "I told you so" and carry on with my life.
7. I'd make a thread saying "No one is perfect" and carry on with my life. Earth's shape doesn't make a lot of difference to me. I just happen to know its flat.

1. Nothing "makes" you accept a belief. You either find someone's argumentation convincing, or you don't.
2. My preference is for empiricism and experimental evidence. Variations on the Bedford Level Experiment are a solid entry point.
3. This is a fallacious argument. You saw a number of objects that share a characteristic, and assume that others must too. Earth is "special" in many ways, an obvious example being that we're the only known celestial body to host intelligent life. It's probably just a coincidence.
4. They're not intentionally lying about the shape of the Earth. That's just a side effect of them trying to fabricate a space program.
5. It's entirely unremarkable. We're doing our job and our numbers are growing. If others want to think differently from us - so what?
6. I'd be happy for a short while, and then I'd carry on with my life.
7. I'd move on pretty quickly. It's impossible to follow the path of inquiry without making some mistakes.

1. Did the research. Mostly from the Bible. Some own experience also.

Do you take everything in the bible literally?
Do you have a citation for this sweeping generalisation?

C'mon, Tom, engage your critical thinking for a split second here. A first-time poster rushes into this thread and answers every question with "WOOO BIBLE!" Surely it would make sense to question his motives?

Luckily, our excellent moderation team is brighter than this.
