The Sun?
« on: December 18, 2017, 07:31:11 PM »
In Flat Earth theory, the Sun is extremely small.

Stars however, are what happen when ample amounts of matter are brought together, and create exceedingly great pressure, causing nuclear fusion.

There is not enough pressure(mass) for fusion with the Flat Earth Theory's sun.

Is there another theory or explanation on how the sun undergoes nuclear fusion?

Or is the sun something utterly different?

What is the SUN?

As I recall Tom at least doesn't think stellar fusion is a thing, in part because it's never been done in a lab. Most FE I've seen tend to lean on the side that no one actually knows how the sun is generating it's energy, it just is. Not something a lot of FE time has been put towards at this moment as far as I'm aware. You can't experiment and test the sun directly, so there's not much for Zeteticism to work with.

devils advocate

Last post where someone mentioned the generally accepted workings of the sun Tom Bishop outright rejected them with the classic "how do you know? Have you been there?".

That's what you're working with here. Think what can I SEE or touch, if it's more complex than that then expect to have to demonstrate proof of any idea.

Well I'm not trying to ask questions that trigger debate, rather questions that give me more depth to their rhetoric.

For example, them answering this question directly with sensible theory would give them an evidence biased rhetoric, but if a vague or ideological answer is given, than the rhetoric is philosophical.
