That game looks awful.  Why does it keep pausing whenever one of the characters does a special move or whatever?

Just discovered that you can buy a refurbished Wii U with Nintendo Land for $200 on Nintendo's online store. Pretty good deal if you don't have one already. Also comes with a warranty.

Here.

I will be getting. Especially if...

[15:42:23] <Snupes> The worst part of this is that I specifically have a Zelda-themed 3DS
[15:42:58] <Snupes> If there is not a Zelda-themed [confetti]New[/confetti] 3DSXL, I will literally cry
[15:43:32] <Blanko> They will make one
[15:43:37] <Blanko> For Majora's Mask 3D
[15:43:40] <Snupes> Yes
[15:43:51] <Snupes> That would fucking make me pretty much organism on the spot

I think the New 3DS is an incredibly stupid move by Nintendo. It's supposedly 2x more powerful than the 3DS, and they're not advertising it as the 3DS's successor. Instead, they're going to port Xenoblade to it and hope that the "hardcore" audience eats it up. What about the people who just purchased a 2DS or 3DSxl? I've seen this compared to the DSi, but that's innacurate because the DSi was the same system with a camera and a shoddy eShop, it had a few exclusives (4 to be exact, and all of them were shovelware). It's ridiculous that Nintendo wants its customers to purchase another 3DS just so we can play Xenoblade or whatever future exclusives they have planned.

I would be less salty if they announced this as their 3DS successor, but that doesn't seem to be the case even though it's looking more and more like their next official handheld.

Meh, I don't think it's enough to be the successor. Nintendo isn't quite like Sony where they just slap on some more power and call it a brand new console or handhold, they tend to want the next to be a real step up. I prefer it that way.

This is a real step up. All the technology is improved. You can view the 3D effect from an angle, the CPU/RAM is almost doubled (supposedly becoming as powerful as a VITA), the battery life is longer, it can read amiibos without an additional attachment, it has another stick, and it has exclusive games.

When I think of "next main handheld"  I think of their next system that will have exclusives not compatible with their previous system. The New 3DS certainly conforms to this line of thinking.

Obvioulsy Nintendo doesn't think of this as the 3DS successor. So I don't understand why they didn't just wait a year and release the successor instead of fragmenting the market with another 3DS with better features?

Smash4 demo is available on the NA Eshop now for anyone who didn't already know (that's right, you don't need a demo code anymore). There is a 30 launch cap, after that you will no longer be able to play the demo. You can avoid this by putting the 3DS into sleep mode when you're done instead of closing the demo. There are 5 playable characters (Mega Man, Villager, Link, Mario, & Pikachu). You can access no items omega stages by pressing x on the stage during stage select. You can change the background music by holding R before it loads. The demo has local multiplayer.

HYPE.

I am at work now, but I will be playing it in a few hours.

I played the demo for about 10 minutes a couple days ago at my local game store. One of the employees let me try it out. It was fun. It's Smash Bros. If you've played the series then you know what to expect. It feels great on the 3ds, looks great, and there's no slow down. I was really impressed in the short amount of time I got to play it.
