Flight route Santiago - Sydney
« on: August 17, 2018, 12:12:08 AM »
Hi I’m max and I’m new in the flat earth stuff . I’m really curious about it bc I think a lot of things make sense but I have to say that I’m not totally convinced. A few months ago I came to Australia from Santiago in a direct flight that took me 14 hrs flying almost over the South Pole and I could see the ice fields  So I’m a little bit confused . Can someone give a good explanation of this ? And the other thing is I recently saw Saturn trough a telescope a it look legit . There is any explanation for that ? Thanks

No you didn't.

This is like me making up a post along the lines of ... "I'm an astronaut and I was on the space station and I looked down and saw the earth was flat and on top of a giant turtle. I'm confused, because you said it was round. From this indefensible position, please engage me in a debate I cannot lose. "

Pro tip ... learn where aeroplanes go before you make spurious claims. They don't fly over the South Pole.

Hi baby Thork thanks for your reply... so I have to assume that the image that they show us on the screen was fake and the pilot saying that what we was seeing ice fields on the left side of the plane was all fake ? If you check the image is not just clouds . Is it a fact that I saw ice field . That is why I’m asking . Thanks

Ok, before I throw my 2 cents out here I want to explain my position. Im a Christian who believes in the Round Earth Model. Yep, you read that correctly. The Model not the Round Earth. To further explain the wording.

Do I believe the World is Round, Yes. Do I believe in Gravity, Yes. Do I have indisputable, indubitable, unquestionable, Proof that could be easily explained to even a Child? Nope. Thats why I currently choose to say the Round Earth Model. To have a discussion you have to keep an open mind and be willing to look at the subject through everyone elses eyes.

Now, here is what I have found out so far in this debate. Pictures, Videos, or Personal experiences Do Not Count as proof. Any of these "proofs" can be disputed, explained, or countered by the opposing side.
Like Chicago across the lake. Ive seen tons of pictures of the city, you really can see it... Sometimes. RE say its refraction. Ive seen tons of pictures where you Cant see the city. FE claims its waves, or atmospheric conditions, or your not aiming at the city.  I could personally fly to space and snap a Picture of a Round/Flat earth and the other side would claim it was faked.

Suspected Registered flight path by Round Earther

Flat Earth Says

Round Earth says about Flat Earth

Its a never ending cycle of doubt.
We Need a Better Idea.

Some people can read War and Peace and come away thinking it’s a simple adventure story. Others can read the ingredients on a chewing gum wrapper and unlock the secrets of the universe.

Perception is a guess or estimate of what is 'out there' depending on how we read the clues; therefore it can never be absolute and often is unreliable.

Here's a similar flight route, explained by a prominent Flat Earther Rob Skiba on this Gleason's Standard Map.
For me, he proves, that this map is a projection of a spherical earth and everything matches if you consider the distortions implied by the projection.

One thing that you are going to have to learn is that there quite possibly hundreds of flat earth models.

When you are confused about seeing the south pole why is that confusing? There are dozens of flat earth models in which there is a south pole.

I assume you're talking about a flat circle earth model in which South America and Australia are at opposite ends of a circle. This flat earth model has a lot of conflicts with travel times/distances, shipping times/distances, cartography and navigation.

The only way to explain it, while supporting a very specific subset of flat earth models,  is to say things like the plane is traveling a super sonic speeds, or that time and distance measurements which weaken this very specific subset of flat earth models are created by the round earth systems which is why they support a round earth model.

Another way to explain it is by looking at other flat earth models (such as an infinite repeating plane) which support observed and measured travel/shipping times as well as cartography and navigation.
