Here's some solid goodness:

Quote from: Metabunk
A classic experiment to demonstrate the curvature of a body of water is to place markers (like flags) a fixed distance above the water in a straight line, and then view them along that line in a telescope. If the water surface is flat then the markers will appear also in a straight line. If the surface of the water is curved (as it is here on Earth) then the markers in the middle will appear higher than the markers at the ends. Here's a highly exaggerated diagram of the effect by Alfred Russel Wallace in 1870:

This is a difficult experiment to do as you need a few miles for the curvature to be apparent. You also need the markers to be quite high above the surface of the water, as temperature differences between the water and the air tend to create significant refraction effects close to the water.

However Youtuber Soundly has found a spot where there's a very long line of markers permanently fixed at constant heights above the water line, clearly demonstrating the curve. It's a line of power transmission towers at Lake Pontchartrain, near New Orleans, Louisiana.

What do you think, Guest? Good shit, or bunk shit?

Why was this addressed to me?

Water drains the way you start it draining. The Coriolis effect on a global scale does not affect local whirlpools because other momentum effects predominate.

But on this subject, the Coriolis Effect applies not only on a global scale, but to any rotating system. So when you hear Coriolis, keep in mind it may have nothing at all to do with the Round Earth (although it usually does).
Did you watch the linked video? Water drains rotating in different directions from a standing pool in different hemispheres.this is exactly due to the rotation of the earth.

-Why does the water fall spinning in the other direction in the southern hemisphere?
It doesn't, this is a myth.

Nonsense Suffragette, water spins in the opposite direction in the southern hemisphere, far from being a myth its a very well known fact!

It actually is a myth Devil... Look into it.

Its actually a well known fact Seedz, empirically demonstrated on my travels through the southern hemisphere. Get out from behind your laptop and see the world dude!

I am originally from Argentina, Buenos Aires to be precise.

The water spin varies from toilet to toilet. I've seen it.

I think the myth busters did a show in this too, not that I vet them, but they are mainstream media which should suffice as evidence here.

No one said anything about toilets. what was said was water drains in different directions in the northern an Southern Hemispheres. Here watch this

If Earth is accelerating up at 9.8 m/s/s that means in 24 hours Earth would have accelerated by:
60s/min x 60 min/hr x 24hr/day x 9.8 m/s/s = 846,720 m/s/s per day.
Which means within 360 days the earth would have accelerated by 846,720 x 360 = 304,819,200 m/s/s.
Which means each year Earth would have accelerated beyond the speed of light. Relativity tells us this is impossible so what is the solution to this dilemma? Alternatively what is the source of energy driving the continued acceleration of Earth?

Dubay denies the holocaust happened. He denies the fact that 6 million people were killed by Nazi Germany.
That Germany killed 6 million people it considered undesirable is a fact that is so well attested by all historical methods that denying it requires either ignoring the evidence entirely or else. No I am sorry there is no or else. The evidence of the nazi extemination program is overwhelming.

Dubay is the greatest FE promoter of our decade, his hatred of Jews which causes him to deny the slaughter is not relevant to our topic. His aim is also to crush the NWO, get in their heads. He obviously got in yours and the marble is bashing around inside your cranium causing irreparable damage.

Seek medical attention immediately. oppps you're a Dr.

If the greatest promoter of your belief also happens to deny something for which there is overwhelming evidence, perhaps there is an issue to be dealt with.
The Holocaust happened. Nazi Germany killed millions of people in a systematic and organized way. Anyone who can disregard that evidence, which is clearly available to anyone who chooses to look for it, is not someone who deserves any respect for any theory they propose. Holocaust denial removes you from the collection of people who are able to examine evidence and draw conclusions in the real world.

The fact that he denies the holocaust clearly demonstrates that he is unable to examine evidence and draw conclusions that are based on that evidence.
This also leads me to doubt he was ever a university professor.

Get over the butt hurt. A whole lot of Architects and Engineers believe 911 was an inside job.

What brought down WTC7?  Pull it !

Believe the lies........

Eric Dubay denies the holocaust, but some people believe 911 was an inside job? What does one thing have to do with the other?
Anyone who denies the holocaust demonstrates either true ignorance or an inability to examine evidence and draw reasonable conclusions based on that evidence.
Anyone who thinks "A whole lot of Architects and Engineers think 911 was an inside job," is a response to the statement that holocaust deniers cannot examine evidence and draw reasonable conclusions either has a reading comprehension issue, or is not able to draw logical conclusions themself. 911 was an inside job, so the holocaust is a lie?

You are right, I did double count the 7 years, that's what I get for trying to parse FE people after cocktails. Though university professorship typically requires a masters at least in the US.

He is also a holocaust denier:

He not only denies the clear evidence of science, but also of history.

In this video Eric Dubay says he is a college graduate and taught at a university for 7 years,
However Eric Dubay's own website:
https://plus.google.com/114446283043110571468
Says he is 34 years old. Subtract 7 years of teaching time and we have an age of 27. this means with an average age of high school graduation of 17, 4 years to earn an undergraduate degree, he managed to teach 7 years in 4 years.
Not only do flat earthers deny clear science, they lie about their experience.
FLAT EARTHERS ARE LIARS OR MISINFORMED.

3dGeek,
A thought occurred to me. To avoid all the fighting about calculated distance, simple use time as a proxy for Distance. Use hours as a base unit, and convert minutes to a decimal of the hour. Then use that as your distance between the cities. Should still get the same result I would think and it takes a hiding place, the distances are wrong, away because we know the times are correct.
Occurred to me because a lab I just did with my eight graders used measuring mass as a proxy for magnetic field strength with magnets on an electronic balance. Why not do the same thing here, use time as a proxy for distance?

That post was already addressed. Here was my reply:

If any of those navigational systems use Latitude and Longitude then they are using a Round Earth coordinate system. It is difficult to imagine that Longitude and latitude is not used in any navigational system.

The only reply from the poster was a statement that Latitude and Longitude is correct. No evidence was provided for this statement. The only evidence in this thread are my sources showing that GPS provides incorrect distances. No sources have been provided show that any Round Earth navigational system provides correct distances. You and Frank continually refuse to provide evidence of such. There is nothing further to discuss on this matter.

Granted this is early in the discussion, but there is a very simple reason runners gps does not match course Distance. Course Distance is measured on the ideal line. Unless you are an elite runner at the front of the race free to choose exactly where you run, you do not run the ideal line. You take longer routes through corners, you can't run the straight line through an s curve in the road......
