I'm hearing conflicting accounts about what this guy actually believed.

It's just weird, only motive I can see so far is the suggestion by the media for tighter gun laws because anyone can go on a psychotic rampage at any time.

What motivated Stephen Paddock to do this?

He was a wealthy retired High Roller with RE property, people like that are plumb lazy.
Did he really lift all those heavy guns into his room, why didn't he ask his golf caddy to do it.
The whole thing stinks to high heaven, there's something else going on here.

Despite all that, what kind of world are we leaving for the next generation?
When you don't even need a reason to shoot 500 people and murder sixty.

This question gets asked all the time on this forum.
The answer can depend on your current worldview, I believe in God so my answer will reflect this.

There is a group of elite satanists who are shaping society in preparation for a NWO.
They are wealthy beyond belief and control most of the worlds media and pop culture.
They set us against each other and start wars because it makes them lots of money,
They control our democracy and get their orders from the devil himself, they have been at it for centuries.
The global lie regarding the shape of the earth is there to remove the idea of God and inteligent design.
A person does not need to know the whole story to be complicite in their plans (agendas)
Even with all this power, they are not always successful, they just work steadily towards their goals.

Thats a rough Christian view of the situation, some would disagree.
Whatever you believe about the world will inform the way you view the conspiracy.

No, not at all. 

I'm simply suggesting that many ancient cosmologies have stronger references supporting a dome model than the example given. In the same way that there are many ancient deluge myths that point to a world wide flood event.

Secretly I think most of us would love to be actors, what an interesting Career.
We have Netflix in Australia and I'll have to check it out, hopefully its on the Aussie playlist.

Yes there are those types,

But there are also those who are FEers and the Roundies attack them and they run away and move to other places where people share their views. (As you do, we are only human after all) I came from the other flat earth forum which was way too aggressive for my tender sensibilities, but I was already convinced beforehand anyway.

This forum is well moderated and most of the Roundies on here are a little nicer to deal with.
But both forums are great IMO because they give you real world reactions and whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

Just bringing this thread back for roundy, the last one was spammed.

And since I posted this there has been a moderate increase in traffic but nothing like I thought would happen.

Flat Earth for myself is a bit like getting into a band before they are famous, then after they make their breakthrough album say, "Oh but their early stuff was heaps better." Only problem is, I came in with the breakthrough album and I haven't listened to much of the early stuff.

You seem to be suggesting that ignorance is bliss for Christians, this isn't true.
There's plenty of fears and sorrows in this life, I just yelled at one of my workmates and had to apologise.
I'm not that nice a guy, I can be a pretty rude stubborn bastard actually, (not that peaceful)

There are Deluge (ARK) mythologies in many ancient cultures.

Same thing with a domed flat earth, also in ancient cultures.

As for the Ark, God called the animals so no need to collect them, as for insects, everything that has the breath of life was destroyed so I'm guessing insects and fish don't count. I could go more into this but I think I'll stop now.
You won't convince a Christian who believes in YEC with those arguments because they have answers for them.

In some sense faith in God can seem irrational because no one can know everything.

But its way more irrational to believe that everything came from nothing. And scientists who deny God's existence are not trusting in empirical science because the Creation ""SCREAMS"" that God exists and they simply choose to ignore all evidence and believe a lie.

And that's why I believe the earth is flat, but I just said that didn't I.

I have a better example, I was thinking of the Dylan Thomas forward to selected poems.
This is my answer to taking the bible at face value.

Christians believe the bible, and that's also why I'm a flat earther, because the bible is a flat earth book.
The bible is undoubtedly geocentric and FET is the best cosmology for geocentricism.

The Bible is pretty clear on what God's requirements for salvation are.

Don't forget that Jesus is the word of God made flesh, and when Jesus was here on earth He often referred to the fact that He was fulfilling all things that were written of Him, (where were they written?) also, when Christ was tempted by the devil He simply repeated Bible verses (It is written) Now Jesus is our example and has promised that Heaven and earth will pass away but His word will not pass away, so the bible is pretty darn important to Christians as we are to follow Christ and not our own subjective sense of what God is or should be.

No it doesn't, you have purposely misrepresented my statement.
There are flat earthers who are Athiests as well, you can hold any position you like.

A worldview doesn't have to make sense, take Evolution for example,
And the Big Bang??? Nothing creating something??? Sorry but that doesn't work either.
We are not omniscient so everything we conceive will have an element of faith to it.
And the position a person holds may send them down different roads.

But some dont worry about the roads and can live with the paradox.

In other words FET lends itself to a Creator myth, and it can magnify your religious convictions.
