The last time Trump tried tariffs on China, he wound up having to bail out American soy bean farmers.
After a series of tariff increases on Chinese imports, the government of China retaliated against U.S. exporters, as predicted by trade analysts outside of the administration. As a result, U.S. exports, particularly of agricultural goods, dropped significantly. “Losing the world’s most populous country as an export market has been a major blow to the [U.S.] agriculture industry,” reported the New York Times in August 2019. “Total American agricultural exports to China were $24 billion in 2014 and fell to $9.1 billion last year, according to the American Farm Bureau.” In 2018, U.S. farmers’ soybean exports to China declined by 75%, according to the U.S. International Trade Commission.

Could you at least post the "empirical evidence"?
How's this?

Quote
Key Findings

The Section 232 tariffs on imports of steel and aluminum raised the cost of production for manufacturers, reducing employment in those industries, raising prices for consumers, and hurting exports.

The jobs “saved” in the steel-producing industries from the tariffs came at a high cost to consumers, at roughly $650,000 per job saved according to the Peterson Institute for International Economics.

A recent report from the U.S. International Trade Commission found that the tariffs increased the average prices of steel and aluminum by 2.4 percent and 1.6 percent, respectively, disproportionately hurting “downstream” industries that use steel and aluminum in their production processes.

I'm wondering if children hitting puberty earlier and earlier has them trying to come to terms with their sexual and/or gender identities before they're really ready for it.
Summary: Study reveals 11-year-olds who question their gender identity or express a desire to change their gender enter puberty earlier than their peers.

Do you really expect a fast food franchise with a high employee turnover rate to keep employee records from 40 years ago?

Here's a big scary list of all the times Russia has brought up using weapons that don't exist and then, unsurprisingly, not using them.

Ah, yes, of course. The government of the Soviet Union. Well renowned for their trustworthiness and guile. How could I possibly claim they made something up? It's impossible.
Well, it was the Cold War.  They were obligated to keep up with all of the US tests of weapons that don't exist, weren't they?

We know that hundreds of people are trying to beat world records, and there are even yearly races around Antarctica (which we are often pointed to, but the details are rarely discussed). This represents the best boat, so your arguments are pretty invalid.
Most of also know that many world records, including circumnavigation records, have any number of categories based on the particular type of craft and crew size, so context matters.  Picking one record and saying that the rest don't matter is nothing more than cherry picking.

Not only is the Antarctic circumnavigation a shorter distance on a RE than the distance circumnavigation around a RE (or 21,600 miles), but it is known that the winds are anomalously fast in the Southern Hemisphere. A number of quotes can be found which suggest that the winds in the South are of an anomalous nature as compared to the North. They become more anomalous as you travel Southward:
Not anomalous, just different.  Given the uneven heating mentioned in your BBC quote and the fact that, except for the southern  part of South America and New Zealand, there is little to no land mass between 40 degrees and 65 degrees south latitude to get in the way, one should expect the prevailing winds in the south to be significantly faster than in the north.

I mean, they can eat all the dogs and cats  they want, as far as I am concerned.
Would you be concerned if someone ate your favorite pet?

I have not either, but a friend of mine did go there. Surprise, he went to voodoo ritual and what did they do? Killed a cat, drank its blood.

A lot of cultures eat dogs. It is normal for them.
Even if that's true, that is not evidence that it occurred in Springfield.

Okay? "Trump did wrong thing, therefore they can do wrong thing too" is not a very rational thought process, markjo.
"Trump did the wrong thing" is why the nonprofit organization representing the Haitian immigrants who have legal status is filing criminal charges against Trump, even if the local authorities won't.

What personal profit?  It’s a criminal case being filed, not a civil one.

They're baiting donations for a cause they know has no chance of succeeding.
As if Trump hasn't been fund raising to pay his legal bills for years. ::)

According to the article I linked…
Quote
Trump and Vance, a U.S. senator from Ohio, are charged with disrupting public services, making false alarms, telecommunications harassment, aggravated menacing and complicity.

Yes, it’s doubtful that the case will go anywhere, but it’s yet another example of the number of fucks that Trump gives about the truth and the potential consequences of his words and actions.

I think it can be inferred that the prosecutor told them to get bent and they decided to scam gullible people like yourself into thinking they have a case when they obviously do not.
Take another look at the aftermath of them doubling and tripling down on their lies and tell me that they didn’t do anything wrong.

You should not be cheering on attempts to waste justice system resources in the pursuit of personal profit just because you don't like Trump.

Did you even read the article?

Quote
The Haitian Bridge Alliance made the move after inaction by the local prosecutor

The local prosecutor told them what Trump did isn't against the law.
I did read the article and I didn't see where the local prosecutor said anything of the sort.  Just because there was no action doesn't mean that Trump and Vance didn't do anything wrong.

There is zero chance of this even making it past a prosecutor's desk, let alone holding up in court. Everything Trump and Vance have said is one hundred percent protected by the First Amendment.
Defamation is not protected speech.

And the criminal charges keep piling up.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The leader of a nonprofit representing the Haitian community invoked a private-citizen right to file charges Tuesday against former President Donald Trump and his running mate, JD Vance, over the chaos and threats experienced by Springfield, Ohio, since Trump first spread false claims about legal immigrants there during a presidential debate.
