Gotham, even if we did take your suggestions seriously, how do you think it can be accomplished? If Daniel himself doesn't want anything to do with it - and evidently he does not - there is no point in even discussing it.

Fair question.  He would have to be a participant.  I do not know why we haven't heard from him in a while? I have, in the past, had some personal communications with him and he always did express himself with concern and resolve to make the TFES the best it can be.  Others may be in recent communications and are kept to confidentiality.

If he is nowhere to be heard from, I also offer to him any method of previous contact he trusts to reach me and i will assist him in any way i can and keep any or all portions of those words either public or private, depending on his necessity.   He does know i will not betray his trust.

In the meanwhile, I am better informed on where your .org is coming from and appreciate the education.

Well, John Davis has mentioned on IRC as recently as a few days ago that Daniel no longer wants to be president of FES. Granted, as I understand it, that's based on relatively old information, but nobody's had contact with Daniel since then so I seriously doubt anything has changed in that regard. Daniel's complete absence speaks for itself.

Well with all that going on, he would be rather displeased to have members trying to keep his name involved...I just hope he is OK.

I have mentioned this to other members.

We can give Daniel a good send off. Cement his name if the history of FET. He is the founder of 21st century FET and we can hold him in the same reverence as Rowbotham or Samuel Shenton. The wiki will read he reinvigorated the society, media syndications the same, we can make him an off topic saint that can't be vilified. If he goes with dignity.

But if he holds on forever more, fuck him. He offers nothing at this point. We will offer him martyrdom, in exchange for capitulation. If he wants legacy, we'll honour that. If he wants a perpetual hand in our fate when he is not prepared to participate or help, his day has come and gone. We don't need him, we aren't spiteful, but his relevance is over. Be part of history or be forever forgotten.
