Little Mac is also OP as fuck.

Little Mac is easy to beat. He has no recovery.

But he's so fast.

Shield and then grab out of shield, toss him off the edge then edge guard. Also, projectiles. They mess him up good.

Nothing more annoying than someone edge guarding.

That's part of the game.

I don't think anyone added me :( I still have no friends on the Wii U.

I've gotten back into my groove in SSB after spending a few sessions playing with my friends, we've even gotten some practice against internationals and beaten teams despite 400 ping and other crazy levels of lag. I'm yet to play 'for glory' though. Little Mac really does feel OP as fuck, his KO mechanic I don't fully understand but seems really unfair when used properly. I'm really liking Robin and Shulk, especially Shulk as his B abilities offer so much utility.

I added you. My Nintendo ID is wintermute0.

I've been switching between King Dedede and Pikachu recently. They feel much better than their Brawl counterparts.

My friend mostly uses Little Mac. He can get some sneaky KO punches off, but sometimes it doesn't actually KO me. Glitch? Or maybe it's just a balance thing. The main thing I dislike about Little Mac is his knockback resistance when doing certain moves.

Most of my time has been devoted to Pokemon Omega Ruby recently, so I haven't played Smash WiiU very much. I do play the 3DS version a lot more mostly because it's portable and I still think it's a great version of the game.

Regardless, we should organize a FES smash night. Get some times coordinated so that some of us can play together.

My go-to's are still Link and Samus as I grew up with those two and I'm still good with them all these years later. I did notice that name added me but it said they hadn't played for quite a while so I assumed it wasn't anyone on here. In any case, I'll probably be having another Wii U party kinda thing this friday so I'll be on then. That's Friday AEST too :)

I had a friend who picked up King Dedede and as noob, he did quite well with him. I've never played him so I'm not familiar with his moveset but it seems he can hit quite hard and has strong recovery.

Yes. King Dedede is my favorite heavy character by far. I usually do not like heavy characters and prefer flexible speedy characters. Shiek is still my best, at least that's who I usually do the best with. But there is something so satisfying about rolling on people and timing hammer swings just right with the King. Dedede is a really rewarding character, and he has some decent projectile spam now (although it can really easily be hit back at you). Plus some of his animations and facial expressions are hilarious.

New 3DS coming to US February 13th for $200. But only the XL version, and it will not come with a charger (wut?).

Yes, but I think this is Nintendo taking advantage of the US market. They're assuming that we'll eat the new 3DS up even though every other country gets additional colors and models. Not to mention that they released the New 3DS with a charger in other countries. I am mad at Nintendo right now.

Seriously, what the fuck. No charger? No smaller version? I was planning on getting one since I've never owned a 3DS. But not now after this bullshit.

Who sells a handheld device without a fucking charger? Are they just so fucking confident that everyone in the US has an older 3DS that they decided to sell the charger separately for extra cash? Well guess what, Nintenfucks... Not everyone has a damn 3DS. Case in point, above.

I now think King Dedede is stupid overpowered. Bad players can easily use his B + Up to harass, stay relatively unharmed, and recover easily. Good players take advantage of his fast and powerful air attacks, his heavy hitting timed abilities, and his bouncy bomb ranged move to rack up damage and execute people.

Only way I'm able to consistently beat a Lv9 CPU using KD is to use Sonic or Greninja (someone really fast) to out-speed him and ledge camp him to death. And when you've got a person using his cheese moves (B + Up), he's hard to catch in the air and kill. Easy to dodge, but that doesn't help you win.

So annoying.

Everything Dedede does is easily punishable though. I spam his air normals, of course, but even those are slow. They're great for counter edge guarding, and his recovery is also great. His up+b is ridiculously punishable, and has a long wind up so that it is easy to avoid getting sat on.  His spike balls can be knocked back with ease, and all his ground smash attacks have a horribly long wind up except maybe his down smash. His ground normals are pretty fast though, so its good to keep an eye out for that.

If its worth anything, I never use his up+b except to recover because I believe it to be his worst move. It locks you into the animation, and after landing the stars dissipate which makes him open to a punish. If I want to go airborne I use his already great jumps, that way I can spam normals if someone approaches me or land on someone with a forward+air or down+air.

Overall, I think most characters are pretty OP when you learn how to play them correctly. That's what makes this the most balanced Smash in the series, IMO.

That reminds me, his ground normals are also bloody annoying. That shit seems to counter everything I throw at it. I counter it by jumping him and hitting him from behind, as he can't react fast enough, but it's still annoying as fuck to get caught in that spinny hammer rubbish every time you get close.

He really only has a couple of moves that leave him vulnerable, and a good KD player/Lv 9 CPU makes sure they hit you with them most of the time. His Up + B is hard as balls to counter, I've found Sonic the only one of my go-to's capable of catching him in the air. It was a big issue when I played with my friends and we had 8 players including CPU's, KD could just spam Up + B and clean up the stage eventually, I couldn't stop it between all the people fighting me.

Overall, I think Greninja is my best option for good KD players, because I can easily deflect his ranged garbage, out speed him and edge guard well.
