In the RE model the length of the Equator is about 40,000Km and both Tropics are about 36,700Km long.

In an FE model (any model will do), what are the lengths of the Equator and the two Tropics?

If there is any doubt, by "Equator" I mean all the points on Earth where the Sun is overhead at an equinox, and by "Tropic" I mean all the points on Earth where the Sun is overhead at the respective solstice.

I did look on the WiKi before posting, but could not find anything about this (for obvious reasons).

There are FE maps which are NOT weakened by measurements and observations but they are not widely accepted in the FE community

We are approaching "No True Scotsman" territory.

Round earth theory has a very precise and accurate map of the earth
Who developed this map and where can I find it? I'm interested to know what makes a map "round"

The data has been collected over hundreds of years. A quick google shows many sites that have geographic data sets, here is one https://globalmaps.github.io/.

I used the term "round" because of the widespread use of FE/RE on this forum to denote the two different understandings of the shape of the Earth. These maps are "round" because they describe every point on the map as a 3D coordinate which are (pretty much) arranged in a sphere. A FE model (if it existed) would show the coordinates as (pretty much) arranged in a plane, with very minimal deviation for heights & depths.

Go to maps.google.com to visually explore a small part of the available map data.

The rest of your post is an argument from personal incredulity. What you think is or isn't likely doesn't really matter.

Thank you, it is good to have that stated so clearly.

It would be great if both sides stopped using arguments based on incredulity.

Galileo says that Catholics should not question the Copernican system:

The argument was not about the shape of the Earth, it was about the motion of the sun and stars.

Both the Catholics and the Copernicans agreed that the Earth was a globe, they just didn't agree on which of them was stationary.

They both knew that the motion of the stars is an insurmountable problem for a flat Earth model.

I think you should publish your flat earth map, if the directions and distances are correct with constant scale. Many FE maps have been made, but all have problems with direction and distance.
Every map ever used by anyone on the face of the planet has been flat and the people using them have had great success.

We are talking about a single map of the whole Earth, not partial maps.

So why can't we work out how they do this?

That, of course, is not the issue.

It is an issue for me. I want to understand why all that highly detailed RE data can't be converted into accurate FE data.

I know of no one on either side (FE or RE) seriously involved in topographical cartography and I agree that it is an oversight.

There are many thousands of people involved in geographic data handling on the RE side, so the fact that there are none on the FE side is more than just an oversight, it is a clear indication that it is not actually possible to create a cartographically accurate map of the FE.

This would work in the bipolar model, but would not work (as far as I can see) in the unipolar model. So, let's see what we can find for this one, eh?

It does not even work in a bi-polar model because the stars would have to rotate about two different points and in two different directions.

There are many models, some of which are bi-polar and some of which are not, but none of them can explain how the stars can rotate around two different points.

They don’t: the stars rise from the east and set towards the west just like north of the equator. They do however pivot around the south celestial pole.

These time-lapse sequences show the difference between the two hemispheres.

Also, the shape and size of Australia is different among all of the Flat Earth maps.

Since the size and shape of Australia does not change, this means that all but one of the models is wrong.

So you're telling me of all the hundreds of thousands of FE believers in the world today, none of them is able to draw up a detailed map ?
The reality is that there are multiple competing models, some with a long history (and arguably mainstream), some rather new and original. You can find some of them at https://wiki.tfes.org/Flat_Earth_Maps

Can any of those models draw a detailed "working" map of the Earth?

how is the reconciled with the notion of a non-revolving, upwardly accelerating flat earth?

The bigger problem with that second notion is that gravity is not the same everywhere on Earth...

Flat Earth Theory / Why is there no standard map of the earth?

Round earth theory has a very precise and accurate map of the earth, but there is no equivalent for flat earth theory. In fact there seem to be multiple conflicting versions of the flat earth map.

All this round earth data must be faked from the real (flat earth) data. So there must be a simple way of creating round earth data from flat earth data.

If we can work out how they do this, we can create a very detailed map of the flat earth using their faked data.

So why can't we work out how they do this?

I implore you not to mislead others just because you failed to read up on the basics.

The FAQ says "the Earth is in the form of a disk with the North Pole in the center and Antarctica as a wall surrounding the known continents. This is the generally accepted model among members of the society"

So it seems reasonable to ask questions about this model even if some members don't agree with it.

Why do the stars rotate in the opposite direction if you are south of the Equator?
