Flat Earth Theory / Re: If there Earth is flat, how does a compass work?

The question you should ask is why do the stars rotate in the opposite direction on different hemispheres!! This can only be possible with a globe!

I am still waiting on explanation on how a compass works with the Flat Earth Model. And what causes the magnetic field in the first place in the Flat Earth models. While photographic evidence can be doctored, but how is a compass or even a magnetized piece of metal placed in a leaf floating on a body of water also manipulated, and what is manipulating simple tools as everything on Flat Earth theory is observational based evidence then why discount the observational evidence of a compass, you would be walking in circles and not in straight lines.

False. Not even going to bother reading the rest.

What is false about that statement? So you are not going to explain how Flat Earth theory works with Earth's Magnetic Field?

Why?

OP, you're just a little off on your description.

Other than parsing semantics, I have read the same physics.org explanation and is accepted the reason why Earth has a magnetic field, is because of a solid iron core surrounded by liquid iron and metals flowing around the solid iron core generating electric currents. So how does a compass work in Flat Earth Theory? What causes Earth's magnetic field?

What is the point of a compass or even using North, South, East and West? As North and South are used to describe traveling latitudinal on a sphere and East and West are longitudinal on a sphere. How would use explain the Southern Hemisphere stars that can not be seen in the Northern Hemisphere. On a Flat Earth everyone would see all the same stars.

Think about it, first you need a spinning iron core to create the magnetic fields magnetic north and south poles. How does a flat earth have a spinning iron core or even a north and south pole or even create magnetic fields?

Next on a globe if you walk true west, north would always be to your right at 90°. On a flat earth, if you walked true west relative to your starting point, then north would always be tracking to the east. On a flat earth if north always stayed north while walking true west, then you would be walking in a radial circle around the center of the flat earth not a straight line oriented on the radius (latitude) on a globe. So how do you explain magnetism, compasses, and magnetic poles in flat earth theory.

It is simple science, an experiment one does in elementary school or as a boy scout for navigation and survival. No billions and billions of dollars to pay for rockets needed to send to space to prove curvature of the earth or flatness. A flat earth would not have magnetic poles to begin with especially a motionless flat disc. With all the theories and all the "research" all can be disproven with a simple humble compass or a magnetized piece of tiny metal placed in a leaf in a small puddle or body of water. I am interested how this could be explained away as I am generally curious as I have seen lots of theories, conspiracy theories of government cover-ups, but are we now to think that the earth's magnetic field and compasses are also to be included in the conspiracy to cover up the flat earth? If so what powers these magnetic fields since they are no longer magnetic poles but a magnetic north "center" and magnetic southern ring that fools the simple compass if no spinning iron core exists?
