Yes, indeed...which further explains why this excellent TestoPrime review is a better explanation.   A small "shadow object" in front of a sun who's distance is comparable to the radius of the FE couldn't produce this effect.

How do eclipses relate to flat earth theory though? Those explanations seem to be for globes.
