Im open minded. I believe in not holding so many certainties, not until its proven beyond a certain level, for me personally.
I dont laugh and curse at new ideas, no matter how they sound. So...

Take an Earth globe in your hand. You know, the "standard" model for the Earth.
Forget flat earth for now, forget poles too, north and south.
Make a dot on africa, which on the round earth is roughly in the middle of the planet, yes? the equator?
Now go left, or right, doesnt matter which. Eventually, you will reach the opposite side of wherever the opposite of africa is, on the other side of the globe is. Keep going in a straight line and eventually you will reach the same spot you started on.

To make this easier, just picture the Equator line. Starting in africa. Now keep following the equator and you will be back where you started.

On a globe, you can go in a straight line and come back on the same spot. On a flat surface you cannot, no matter what you say.
Theres no tricks. If something is flat and you go straight, you will not come back on it.

So, now take the flat earth map. the poles are now surrouding all the edges, correct?

but if one was to start somewhere like africa or south america and go straight, in accordance to a globe, you wouldnt hit the poles.
Get it?
You can only go around on a globe, not on a flat surface. So, at the moment, this is my question.
how can it be flat if someone can go around? in a flat earth you wouldnt be able to go around, you would just go in a straight line and hit an edge. but thats not the case.

Flat Earth Theory / north pole
« on: November 23, 2015, 11:22:27 PM »
And how about the north pole? Why is everyone talking about the south and not the north? And by that example, why not any edge?
Picture a globe, a ball. You can go around it anywhere, all you have to do is keep going straight. You dont have to go south pole or north pole. So you can go straight and if its a globe, you will reach the other continents and eventually, come back to the same spot. I hope someone has a good explanation to this.

Flat Earth Theory / Re: Has anyone ever flown a plane across Antarctica?

Im new to the "theory" and I dont like to pretend I have certainties. I remain open to learning.

My question is: if the earth is flat, then you cant go around it if you go east or west, correct? You can only go around it if its a globe, if its flat, there will be edges.

So, there are edges everywhere, not just on the south pole. So this by itself, to me, already "debunks". I hate that word, but its the only one now.
