Flat Earth Theory / How does orbiting work on a flat earth model?
« on: December 21, 2018, 10:50:07 PM »
The one analogy I have for the current globe orbiting mechanic is basically picturing a long jump athlete. The faster they take the run up and jump, the further they would land correct? The wind resistant slows down the athlete and Earth's attraction force brings the athlete back down in a sort of curving trajectory. Now imagine if there wasn't any wind resistance and the athlete was running so fast that when he jumps the landing trajectory of the curve is stretched so much that he has no landing point, he ends forever falling towards the Earth. The only way he can slow down and have a landing trajectory point is when force of an opposite direction is applied and it slows him down enough that the Earth has a pull on him. That is how I understand orbiting.

How does orbiting work for a flat earth model?

I've attached a badly drawn example to explain how I understand orbiting ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
