Flat Earth Community / Re: Not a believer but have a question
« on: December 24, 2018, 02:12:46 AM »
I don't believe this theory and I cant say I ever will but instead of just reading what others have to say about it, others being those who don't believe it either, I thought I should ask what the people who do believe it think so I actually get the truth. Is it true that the main reason for dismissing photo and other such evidence from space that show the earth as a sphere is that they are part of some sort of conspiracy made to make people think the earth is round?
No. The 'conspiracy' extends no further than space travel. It kicked off in the cold war for political gain, was prolonged for financial gain, and nowadays we're in the position where no one can really be the first to come forward and say "So, uh, turns out that's impossible and we've been lying this whole time." Images showing a round Earth do so purely because that was what the paradigm of the time was, and so was what they expected to see.

Where do the rockets go ? At what height does the atmosphere stop? Why can a camera with a telescope lense observe the rocket leaving the atmosphere?

If you look at the video the camera and people aren't at sea level, sea level would be touching the water. It is well above the sea level as is the mirror she is not at the water either.
Please learn how to do a scientific experiment and not just some mileninal political science majors attempt at one.

Here try this one it's easier and dont video it because I dont want you to be embarrassed publicly about believing the earth is flat.
Get to altimeters goto the shore in Malibu and Catalina in line of sight with each other.
Then using the altimeters place the mirror and a laser at the same height not off the ground from each other but via the same height the two altimeters read the same and see if you can get a reflection.

Let me know when you can see it at the same level, meaning lower the camera a half foot off the ground and record it.

Flat Earth Theory / Re: Using a telescope to see across the planet,

The moon laser is powerful enough to hit a weather balloon at 20k feet from its mountain top if the earth was flat. It's a fairly cheap experiment and would prove the flat earth theory once and for all?
Hi, so I have a question, if the earth is flat why can I not stand on Australia and with a telescope see the uk? Hypertheticaly speaking there is no mountain ranges or natural barriers in the way. If your theory was correct then this would be possible
Even through the cleanest air there is quite finite visibility distance.
Hence, whether the earth is flat or not you see more than a few hundred kilometres due to the Scattering of light in the air.
Quote from: Wikipedia
Visibility
In extremely clean air in Arctic or mountainous areas, the visibility can be up to 160 km (100 miles) where there are large markers such as mountains or high ridges. However, visibility is often reduced somewhat by air pollution and high humidity.

Visibility distance is of vital importance for aircraft pilots and this article treats that side: Introduction to atmospheric visibility estimation by Alec Bennett
