So, I understand why people would think that the Earth is flat but my question is, why is the Earth not round? What is it about the accepted round Earth that doesn't make sense scientifically?

Essentially nothing. There's no discrepancies with the RE model.

They do match though. It's just that Tom doesn't understand the moon terminator illusion.
