I am new here. I am not a believer of the Flat Earth theory but I do respect everyone else's opinions. And please correct me if I am wrong in any of my understandings of the FE theory.
I do have an idea, one that unfortunately costs money but it would work. I would propose that three teams are formed, one in South Africa, one in Australia, and one in South America. All three teams fly due south and land at their respective ice lands in the 'south pole'. Travel inland far enough (as far as possible if you are a FE believer) and if all three teams shoot up flairs at night.. either they will all see each other (proving the earth is a sphere) or never see each other because they are thousands of miles apart (backing up the FE's argument) .. or even use radio triangulatio to determine how far apart each team is from each other. Its a simple idea that probably needs a little tweeking (such as each team be mixed in order to keep each other honest) but could settle the debate once and for all.
As I understand it, the 'south pole' is an ice mass that forms a wall of sorts, keeping the oceans water in the flat earth plane. Has anyone ever tried to fly over this wall? Throughout time our history is full of explorers yearning to learn more.. Columbus, Magellan, etc.. why not rent a helicopter and take a look? If the three teams I propose flew down in a plane from each of their assigned starting points, either they would smile and wave as they pass each other while they circumnavigate in globe fashion, or see(?) a barrier that cannot be penetrated. Again, make the teams mixed in order to keep each other honest. Either way, the issue is settled.
If the barrier cannot be seen then how do you know its there? Who was the person that bumped in to it and went 'ouch'? How do you know its there? I am asking for facts, not opinions or beliefs. Why doesn't anyone go down and find out to prove the FE theory?
One simple excercise is to fly from Sydney Australia to Santiago Argentina. The direct route would take you close to the south pole on a globe. FE'ers would travel over the rest of the world, including over the Himalayan mountains.. kind of hard to miss. The globe route would be all ocean as opposed tp the flat earth route. Get your maps out and draw a straight line between Sydney and Santiago. Not to mention that flight would be twice as long as a direct flight on a globe, and to my knowledge no commercial airliner flying today has the fuel capacity to make that a non stop flight. Globers can do it in less than 10 or 11 hours. Take the flight and look out the window yourself.. but again, no FE'er will honestly say they have.
My ultimate point is believers of a globed world will repeatedly point out that they have flown around the globe, over the south pole many times having FE'ers dispute with an argument of some kind. Where is the proof from the FE'ers that have taken the same flight? I have yet to see a believer in the Flat Earth theory say "I flew south and had to turn around because of a wall that could not be penetrated", or what ever the reason is.. not a single one. Not one single photograph of this ice wall, not one single selfie of someone standing in front of it, never a mention of an expedition of any kind to dispute the round earth reasoning. I will wait and be happy to join such an expedition if it ever comes about.

I wonder how yet another trip to Antarctica would solve anything. If FEers do not believe in all the people who died and those who lived exploring and crossing the south pole, why would they believe the results of another trip? If they watch the movie "March of the Penguins" and believe Morgan Freeman is part of a conspiracy to promote a "south pole hoax" why would they believe another expedition?

I am always hearing the FE Believers say to trust your own eyes. When they drive from Florida to California, the land looks flat, hence the theory. I am just taking it one step further and saying to trust their own eyes by making the trip down under themselves.
I would love to hear the FE'ers talk to the family members of the space shuttle Challenger, whos crew died when it exploded back in the 80's.. and tell them that no one was even on that rocket and their loved ones death was a hoax. I bet that won't go over too well.

They ask you to trust your eyes but they don't really mean that. What flat earth research really is all about is reading, watching and listening to what other flat earthers preach and accepting it unequivocally.
If you took a whole bunch of flat earthers to the Antarctic, they'll say stuff like "we didn't go far enough into the lands before the ice wall to actually reach the ice wall". Or "we were taken to a very cold island before the ice wall" or even "it's all cgi".
In the event that a group of flat earthers admit to being wrong, the rest of the bunch will just shout them down for being sell outs, for being bought by NASA (go figure).
The truth is that on this site and the other one, enough evidence has been presented to show without a doubt that this earth is definitely not flat, these pieces of evidence are consistently discounted as fake, part of the conspiracy or they are just plain ignored.
I'll say it again, flat earthism is a belief. Nothing more.
