US arming terrorists

Half a billion dollars. Going to mercenaries. Paying to equip rag heads to blow up buildings and over run the establishment. Then they will come back to the American tax payer and say "terrorists now rule Syria. We need to spend money to send the military in to give them another regime change".

Why aren't American taxpayers up in arms about their government giving away half a billion dollars for a war between arabs in the desert?

Because we did it in the 80s under Regan.  It's just history repeating and most of us suck at history.
If you are going to DebOOonK an expert then you have to at least provide a source with credentials of equal or greater relevance. Even then, it merely shows that some experts disagree with each other.

We already knew about the US government funding and supplying arms for drug wars in Mexico and other places. It is indeed history repeating itself.

You two seem pretty nonplussed about a bad thing happening just because something similar has happened before. Why don't we just re-elect Hitler? He was already in office once.

Because he's dead.  Duh.
You can't elect a dead guy.

The reason the US is footing the whole bill and no one else is helping (despite our god-awful government being just as keen to do this) is because any time aid to help insurgents is so much as mentioned, our social media lights up with vitriolic abuse towards the authorities. Its why Britain was the first to say we wouldn't want to go to war with Syria.
Our government is now frightened to intervene because of the massive tide of hatred towards middle-east intervention.
Murricans need to get on their keyboards and whinge like you've never whinged before. It does seem to have an effect.
We often have a story break, twitter, news comment sections, facebook, et all are deluged by ill feeling and we get a retraction the next day by those 'floating' the idea. Its actually a form of democracy in action. :)

You do know that Americans are keen to kill terrorists right?

This is the problem. Americans are too stupid to see what happens. Their government arms terrorists in Syria and calls them rebels or freedom fighters. And then fights rebels in the next country and calls them terrorists. And the American taxpayer says "Fuck yeah! Go America! Have some more of my money to keep doing what you are doing".
And this is why you are going to be paying to support terrorists in Syria and the same time as intervening in Iraq to fight the same group of terrorists which the US government has cleverly given a new name, and you will be doing it all by yourself as the only population too retarted to spot the obvious and complain about it.

Nothing new under the sun. The US helped arm the IRA during the troubles, anti-communist terrorists in virtually every red state (Vietnam, Cuba...), crime lords south of the border, etc etc.

Gotta keep that military-industrial complex busy somehow!

Don't forget the billions of dollars of aid we spend on our terrorist puppet state, Israel.
