The iWatch looks the worst out of all the SmartWatches on the market at this point, at least when you compare prices.
Let's see how developers take to the iWatch and then see how it compares.
My boss is a apple fan boy and was asking me about this over a very expensive lunch. He wants me to download the watch SDK and see what we can make. A few ideas I have off the top of my head might be a driving app, so if your heartbeat slows to the point when you are likely to fall asleep, it gives you a little buzz to wake you up. I also think you could probably use the barometer for thunder information as I would pick up shockwaves. I mean the perfect app with a barometer is a diving app to say how deep you are, but of course apple decided their sports watch didn't need to be waterproof. You could probably build an app to warn pilots of hypoxia too. But I'm not keen on this. I think its a bit of junk.

Navigation app for the visually impaired. It buzzes one way to tell you to turn left, a different way to turn right, and something different when you reach your destination. Feel free to send me an appropriate sum of money.

I decided to get the 6 Plus. Thankfully I don't have tiny hands.

I put iOS 8 GM on my 5s. Keyboard is better, and the Health app looks interesting, although not useful at the moment. That is about it.

It's not a bad app idea.  Unless you're calm.  It'll need calibration.

Also: golf swing analyzer.

If you are going to DebOOonK an expert then you have to at least provide a source with credentials of equal or greater relevance. Even then, it merely shows that some experts disagree with each other.

Apple maps already does this on the new watch. No money for you.

Thank you. Stealing. :D

My guess is that the diver watch market is more specialized that what Apple is looking to get into.
Apple reps offered individual briefings to some tech writers; there I learned a bunch of stuff that Apple didn’t say in its keynote.

For example, the Apple Watch is water resistant. Sweating, wearing it in the rain, washing your hands, or cooking with it are fine. Take it off before you swim or get in the shower, though.

Between the accelerometer and heart rate monitor, I'm sure that someone can work something out.

This is genius. On apple watch, you can send your real time heart beat to a loved one. Why not send them a real time fap? Draw length, stroked per minute etc.

Then you can link the watch to a porn rating system.

"Blonde bimbos of be Beverly Hills- 20 falls/minute."

Looks like the iPhone will be poised to be the criminal/terrorist's phone of choice:
Apple said Wednesday night that it is making it impossible for the company to turn over data from most iPhones or iPads to police — even when they have a search warrant — taking a hard new line as tech companies attempt to blunt allegations that they have too readily participated in government efforts to collect user information.

The move, announced with the publication of a new privacy policy tied to the release of Apple’s latest mobile operating system, iOS 8, amounts to an engineering solution to a legal quandary: Rather than comply with binding court orders, Apple has reworked its latest encryption in a way that prevents the company — or anyone but the device’s owner — from gaining access to the vast troves of user data typically stored on smartphones or tablet computers.

Oh boy, Apple invented encryption. Such innovation.

That isn't what they said.  Apple said that they will no longer hold on to the encryption keys.

They will. They have probably received a secret court order to do that and say the opposite. That is how the NSA works.

You can virtually always set your own encryption key. People choose not to.
