Flat Earth Theory / Gyrotheodite (gyroscopic compass)
« on: February 01, 2023, 07:14:14 PM »
A gyrotheodite (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gyrotheodolite) is a gyroscopic compass that does not rely on any magnetic fields used in mining where GPS is not available and a magnetic compass would be too inaccurate. How do things like this work on a flat Earth if it relies on the earth being a spinning globe?

Flat Earth Theory / Re: Gravitational Time Dilation on Flat Earth
« on: December 07, 2021, 07:23:12 PM »
What about the time dilation measured on Earth, ie brining atomic clocks to the tops of mountains. On a flat earth these clocks should be moving at exactly the same speed as the whole earth has the same velocity. Am I wrong?

Flat Earth Theory / Re: Is there anything that RET cannot explain?

Oh, this could absolutely be done without a scale. Just look at the map and see the relative size. A scale would just make it even more painfully obvious that these sizes don't match up with real measurements.

This gave me a thought though, I've never seen a FE map with a scale. Maybe I just haven't been looking hard enough

Antarctica consistently has roughly 6 months of sunlight and daylight per year. How does this work on the flat earth where the sun goes around Antarctica and can't ever light the any of it for 6 months at a time?
I made this post earlier today. Pete Svarrior also locked this earlier with just a link to the FAQ. Going to the sunlight section, I merely saw a gif of the flat earth sun going around, along with a couple more diagrams, none of which had Antarctica being lit for half the year. My question still stands.
How does this explain 6 months of light and dark at Antarctica?

Flat Earth Theory / Why is the earth the only flat planet?

If the Earth is flat, why? How was it created? Why aren't other planets flat?

Also, how is the Earth flat if you can clearly see the Fresnel effect (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fresnel_equations) on the earth (edges of round-ish objects being shiny)
