Dunno how helpful it will be for markjo and co. to just devour every point you make.

I know all about it thork. I read your original thread about it.
I do not need convincing, as I said its noteworthy and gives credit to the man and will make an interesting addition. I don't know why people are debating it, the point is that its an interesting fact about a man who the general public know little about. I think there should be a short biography in the opening chapter. Other than that the only changes I would make would be to improve the diagrams and a chapter at the end that gives a short history of the modern flat earth society. Everything else I would leave as it is.

Not that it matters, but was this actually an original formular or was there similar products on the market at the time? The question is rhetorical. I don't care either way. But it might be worth investigating to make a solid case if it was published.

Well don't lie about Hampden; make sure to mention the bet was turned over on a legal technicality and not the substance of the bet. It was like the 1800s version of "If it doesn't fit you must acquit."  Everyone knows what happened but the courts had to rule for Hampden anyway.

EDIT: Fixed Typos.  Now if only Thork can correct his claims about Hampden.

I think you missed the point in his idea. It is irrelevant how the case was won. And there's no real evidence that he invented dr pepper. But it makes an interesting read and will captivate believers and sceptics alike.
You don't read a tabloid for the facts. You humor yourself at the strange articles and refer to the diagrams on page 3.

Is ENaG no longer under copyright because of its age?
Is it legally sound to create a 150th anaversary edition? Basically a retype of the original book with the new cover posted in this thread?

I'd be tempted to tackle this myself as its a really good idea.

I think it would be appropriate to mirror the Facebook feed unless somebody produces something of better interest. A homepage that is now a year out of date just looks like something for former site would do.

I wonder if this will actually happen for 2015 now?

The joke of a council should be discontinued if there's a merger.
First point, the council doesn't do anything, let alone earned the right to have any control over any forum administration. It's just a title that was given during a popular flat earth advocate contest.
Second point is that there's a whole other website that didn't vote for the council members. You would instantly need a reelection.

Keep your negativity to yourself thork. That post was out of date way before that.

Why not tie it into some of the nice images that get posted on Facebook when they are posted?
Have a historical spotlight when there's nothing to add. Maybe a little bit from ENaG?
A spotlight on a wiki page? Highlight most interesting sections?

Somebody post some shirt ideas already too. That's good news. Maybe a competition for designs? Best one gets printed and they get a free copy?

The nice images that are posted on Facebook can be on the home page with a download for your wallpaper?

What about some spoof news? Tasteful ones with light humor. Lets not accuse palistine bombings for coving a flat earth conspiracy!

Post YouTube videos that are about FET?

I feel this should be something the council should of been doing already. What do they even do?

Title says it all. Looks sloppy having a 'news' that was relevant 8 months ago.

If I'm understanding PP's post this forum will be the official one and the other forum will be merged into here.
That's the hope. It's not final yet.

Id fully back that notion.

I agree with that. I can't truly understand what's its like.
It's sad that there is any racism. Think what you like, there are some cultures I am not keen on, but I wouldn't single them out for it.

Have you considered what the dedicated users of the other site would feel about you 2 running the forum? If a similar thread is there id image they would strongly oppose you guys running their forum. Ultimately that could halt any merger happening at all. You mentioned that the mods and admins here will be running it. I don't think the mods there would be so happy about that idea either. That's a detail for you to work out later though. I'm interested how the other forum feel though, especially the reputation PP had/has.

Thork at the end of the day we are the only ones who do not like the idea. We just need to put up and shut up. Nobody is forcing us to visit either site if its not to our liking. Sadly we live in a democracy and the majority want the merger.

I administer midazolam. It's a prn for epileptic seizures.
Tying them to a stake and letting the sea drown them would be more humane. There are better ways than ineffective injections.

The title is a hook. Don't hang onto that. The issue is segregating yourself as a minority group rather than uniting all people.
Thing is, are any of you racist at all? I was bought up in a house that kinda was but was behind closed doors. Just jokes about the before mentioned corner shop owners. But I'm not a racist and I don't see people as black, white, Indian (not to be confused with native americans) or whatever. I just see people. If these groups had the same agenda then I believe they would actually be doing something good. I don't even think this group even realised what they were implying.

It's a topic that bothers me some what. As a follower of rap music and hip hop I have a few people popping up on my news feed on Facebook who are always promoting the black community.
Today I see this group tagging a famous MC I'm friends with trying to promote black people to create a new super group of black people to fight against racism. I also see the same MC talking about how the black community need to unite and fight racism.
It's worth noting that I come from a town where racism as a whole is not a 'thing'. At least I do not witness it. And this is a town that when I was a small child there wasn't any other ethical races except the guys who owned the corner shops.

My question is; do ethnic groups promote racism against themselves? By segregating themselves they are isolating themselves from other people creating more of a focus that they are a different culture. Wouldn't it be more proactive to promote the human race rather than an individuals?

Oh noes.  Secret negotiations.  :o
Daniel is paying us top dollar to screw all of you guys over.

On a more serious note, he didn't say anything more than what he said in public.

I suggest you don't take it further then. If it was me in charge I'd be excited about bringing the society back together. Certainly wouldn't leave the idea hanging for days. It's typical behaviour of him and the reason we are talking here in the first place.

I prefer this forum. I like the changes that were made at the type of people who post here.
My worry is that those who help a lot here would get side lined and the community built here will be diluted.
I do not see a need to merge back. Is this forum not good as it is? I do t think I'd like to converse with the bottom feeders that lurk the other site. At least the community here is a mature one (well as far as forums go) and is welcoming.

Something like this is acceptable with little effort from the creators. Especially if non-profit.
