Russia have had Putin for over 20 years. That just isn't possible with democracy and that is why it is the best system.
What the hell are you on about? There are plenty of democracies around the world with long-serving leaders. Lukashenko has been President of Belarus for nearly 30 years

Imagine thinking Belarus is a functioning democracy.

Given that all democracies currently feature such a test, this is patent nonsense.
Do what?!
All democracies have an age requirement to vote. Now, that's not what you were talking about, but it does satisfy Saddam's description of a test that he believes would be corrupted. Its existence is proof that a restriction on who can and cannot vote can be implemented in a way that doesn't compromise democratic principles.

Reaching the legal voting age is not really what anyone is talking about when they say “test” in the context of having educated voters. Seems a bit disingenuous.

I think you can make a knowledge test that is reasonably egalitarian though and that could be a good idea. It’s better than people voting on blind tradition or gut instincts.

One suggestion I heard was that the test would be on which policies go with which parties.
so people who are more educated and smarter get to run the country the way they want to, at the expense of dimmer people with lower incomes who are disenfranchised.

That seems like an elitist gerrymandering policy to bury the poor. Have another go.

That kind of information is not difficult to come by and would require a minimum of effort. You could even provide study guides to all prospective voters.

Good job, Rama. There is noticeable improvement on the last run. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see you in a movie or TV show.

Thanks. The past couple of years have been rough with the pandemic and the changing demographics in Film/TV, but it’s nice doing regular training again.

You know that you run the risk of some animal here taking a screencap from that video and using your face on some kind of meme or deepfake porn or something.

I wasn’t worried about that… until you just mentioned it.

Nice! My dumb ass was wondering for a minute why you were being such a douche about it in the scene… then I realized that even though I don’t know that character, I’m obviously just a tool.

How long was it between first crack and final take for each? Pretty cool to see the evolution.

Right after. We do our scenes, then the coach gives us feedback and we go again. It takes a good coach or director to communicate the how and why something should change.

I am, I just took my bandages off for the scene.

Thork beat me to it, but: yes, I suspect that will be by far the easiest way forward, especially since we already have a working youtube embed BBCode.

We could probably cobble something together for Streamable or another service, but I'd prefer not to do so unless it's really necessary. Every small addition is a little bit of extra continuous effort for us to maintain.

Yeah no need. I will use YouTube.

Out of curiosity, why is YouTube not a workable solution for you?

I don't want the videos to be as easy to find as they are on YouTube.
You can make youtube videos non-searchable and only accessible by link. The wildly popular 'Walk With Thork' series was like that.

TIL. Thanks very much!

Suggestions & Concerns / Video upload site suggestions?

Hey, I want to uplaod and post some video clips but not to youtube.  I thought to use streamable.com, but the forum does not seem to like them.  You can see here that the embedded player doesn't work.  Does anyone know if this is an issue with streamable or the forum, and how it might be resolved, ideally by just using a different upload site?

I am going to share some clips from a scene study class I do.  We are given scenes that casting directors send out, prepare them at home, perform them in class and then get feedback from the coach.  The clips have our first pass at a scene and the last one.  Feel free to share any thoughts, just bear in mind that wardrobe and hair aren't the focus so some scenes I do not look the part, or even like I showered that day.  The first scene is from "Superman & Lois" where I play the dastardly billionaire, Sebastian Saint.

We will just have to agree to disagree and throw down when the next Momoa epic hits the theatres.

I couldn't possibly disagree more with all of this. Every scene in a movie is important. Every scene should be done to the best of everyone's abilities. Every actor should give the best performance they can. I fundamentally do not believe that lame dialogue should be overlooked on the grounds that it's just exposition and a necessary evil, or that a dull scene should be shrugged off because it's just setting the stage for what's to follow, or that a halfhearted performance should be handwaved away because hey, maybe that character is just emotionally shallow, nothing to see here, move along. The film is the sum of its parts, both good and bad. Every line of dialogue, every scene, every character, and every performance are what make the film. If a certain scene feels it like it's only there because it has to be, and it's just something that you want to get over with quickly, then the movie has a problem.

I never said any of that.  I dont think anything should be overlooked, but not every scene is there to be mined for emotional and dramatic importance either. Some scenes have very simple purposes, and do not require as much from the performers.  Your characterization of Momoa as "half-hearted" is not something you could ever substantiate so you may want to drop it.  You don't get offers for work like he gets if you are dogging it.  It seems to underly the butt hurt you have from him though.  Also, if you think characters having varying emotional depth is handwaving then you may want to go back and have a look at fictional characters again because it's just a fact.

Greetings, fellow generic fantasy fan.
How dare you. Robert E Howard created the character in 1932. Show some fucking respect.

He sounds like a dudebro.
