The Lounge
« on: December 03, 2013, 11:51:02 PM »
On the .org site, the Lounge section was hidden from Guests.  This was done so we could talk a little more openly amongst ourselves without having to worry about hundreds of strangers reading our personal information or looking at our pictures.

Currently, Guests can not see the lower fora.  I propose that the Lounge section be setup like this as well.

A good rule of thumb is if you don't want people looking at your pictures or personal info, don't post it on the internet.

This was intentional. While there is good reason to hide CN/AR from guests, I think opening The Lounge to guests gives better visibility into the fact that it's not all srs bsns here on FES. It's not like those guests can't just register an account and read those threads anyway.

I'd like to gather more opinions on this before we make a final decision, so unlocking.

Uh oh, admin drama.  The site is going to close now :(

I think leaving the lounge open is fine.  How else can Thork have his 'sext Thork' thread?

I agree with leaving The Lounge open, at least for now.

Oh, nah, I just assumed this must have been a mistake, so I did stuff without consulting Parsifal. Just a bit too hasty of me.

PizzaPlanet will be de-admin'd as soon as I have no use for him anymore. He is a complete disgrace.

I did like the idea of having one semi-serious forum which was hidden from view from prying eyes.  There are certain DND agreements which are beneficial to other members if they are broken.  A hidden forum would help these disclosures from being discovered (however unlikely it is that this forum would be browsed over).

There are more admin posts in this thread than any other type of member. Just thought I'd point that out.
