The outside heat shield isn't even properly sealed together. There are gaps everywhere in the white exerior. Its terrible. It looks like a middle school art project. You are living in a fantasy land if you think that the heat shield of a space craft which kick up plumes of dust should be so flimsily secured and held together.

You believe that if there was a large ruler in the sky between the sun and the moon that a straight ruler would appear to curve in the sky.

For what reason would a straight line appear curved? A straight line should appear straight, no matter which angle you look at it from. You are providing nothing but nonsense explanations.

If I may ask, why does the history of the NASA conspiracy in the FAQ section only start with Apollo 1?

It doesn't say that.

"No one would believe?"  The FE side claims that the whole world already believes things the FE find ridiculous, why would no one believe this?  Airplanes reach targets thousands of miles away slowly; I don't think anyone would have trouble accepting that a missile could go higher and faster in order to reach that same target quickly.

Airplanes fly via lift. Rockets follow a ballistic trajectory, and a rocket full of rocket fuel only has enough power for about 100 miles before it starts dropping. Unless it gets into earth orbit or on a sub-orbital velocity, it's not going to go very far.

Quote
If I pretend I have a back yard full of fire-breathing dragons threatening the kids next door, the neighbors wouldn't feel the need to also pretend to have their own dragons in an effort to comfort their kids; they would prove that dragons aren't a thing and therefore I don't actually have any.

How are you supposed to prove to your kids that dragons don't exist? That's called proving a negative and is incredibly difficult/impossible.

Quote
By the same token, if China or North Korea could prove that the nations with ICBMs are making the whole thing up, there is no need to pretend to have ICBMs of their own, because they aren't even a real thing (in that world)!

If North Korea said that our ICBM system was fake, how do you really see it playing out?

Flat Earth Theory / Re: Help me, I'm being deceived

That would preclude you from claiming to have ICBMs that can destroy any country at the push of a button (therefore untouchable), and you risk that you will not be believed.
Nonsense, you could claim a missile flies high up and far away without needing to also claim it can reach space.

That's not really possible and no one would believe you. Hitler's V2 rockets could reach space, but only had an operational range of about 200 miles.

The rockets need to get into an orbital or sub-orbital path and velocity in order to hit targets that are thousands of miles away.

Quote
Exactly my point.  It's hella expensive to run a space program, if you are China or India (for example) it would be cheaper to NOT play with rockets and instead spend a small amount of money debunking the US program.  Nobody does this.  Why not?

If you don't claim to have ICBMs then everyone in your country is going to be really uncomfortable thinking that other countries have ICBMs pointed at them and that their country is defenseless, no matter how much their leaders shout "it's all fake" into the air. Come on, it is pretty obvious what path the state would go.

The sky is not a sphere which things rest against.
True, it is much larger and more complex than that simplistic image, as any RE will tell you.

It's also not a two dimensional object like a photograph, which invalidates the method of moon angle measurement attempted by the guy in your thread-opening video.  Spherical Geometry is difficult and occasionally counterintuitive.

Again, straight lines would be straight, unless they were resting against something curved.

Your "spherical geometry" of the sky is difficult and hard to explain when challenged because it is fake.

Quote
Your video accidentally undermines the flat earth.  The guy claims there is something wrong with the moon angle, but he leaves unspoken the rest of the sentence: "if the earth-moon-sun system is the way I imagine it: flat earth, small nearby sun, small nearby moon of identical size and distance."  The fact that things don't look like you think they should under your model?  That suggests your model is wrong.

I don't follow. What do you think things should look like?

Non-allied countries tend to cast doubt and skepticism on each other's space capabilities.

Why bother pretending to even have a space program?  It would be cheaper to expose the "fraud" of the big players.

That would preclude you from claiming to have ICBMs that can destroy any country at the push of a button (therefore untouchable), and you risk that you will not be believed.

Isn't one of FE tenets that the heavens are a dome?

Nope. I welcome you to try and find something about a dome in Earth Not a Globe or any of the other Flat Earth literature sources.

Quote
No matter, for all of us, FE or Spherical, the sky appears to be a semi-sphere.

The sky is not a sphere. How would things curve against it if it were not a literal sphere? Straight lines would be straight, unless they were resting against something curved.

a) There are multiple foreign nations who have travelled to space - many of whom are openly hostile to the USA.  None of them blabbed?

During the cold war the US expressed open skepticism against the Soviet Space Program, and vice-versa.

Quote
b) There are multiple non-government agencies (SpaceX, for example) who would have to have been in collusion.  None of them blabbed?

NASA is actually composed entirely of non-governmental agencies called government contractors, public-private arms of the state which operate within the government's secure realms.

Quote
c) Not one "death bed" confession from an astronaut?  Really?  Not a single one?

Buzz Aldrin's entire personal and professional life revolves around the fact that he was an Apollo astronaut. It has brought him fame and fortune and he has traveled around the country inspiring adults and children alike. Do you really think he would admit that he was a phoney?

Also, when people are sick they generally believe that they will pull out of it.

Quote
d) What about all of those astronomers - they'd all have to be in on it.  Nobody blabbed?

Astronomers merely observe the sky and interpret. They are not scientists who put their subject matter under controlled conditions to come to the truth of a matter --they can't. Astronomy is not a real science. Astronomers are fake scientists.

Quote
e) What about all of the people who build and sell GPS equipment, without satellites in orbit, GPS can't work the way it's claimed - but the people who write the software for these things would also have to be a part of the conspiracy.

The military built the GPS satellites and the military is publishing the spec.

Quote
f) Ditto satellite TV companies.

Do you really think that Dish network is building and launching their own satellites single handedly?

Quote
g) All of those ships, drones and aircraft that are claimed to be patrolling The Great Ice Barrier have to be in on the conspiracy - so do the people who build those ships, the people who supply them, the people who crew and repair them.   So do all of the countries who have navies down there who'd have spotted them.  So do all of the air-traffic control people who watch these aircraft land and take off in huge numbers.

Who claimed that the wall was guarded? Why are you making stuff up?

Quote
h) Navigation by the stars can't work the same way in FE as it does in RE.  But sailing ships going back to the 1600's used this navigation technique...and their sailors wrote manuals about it - there are copious books on the subject.  Every commercial shipping company and every navy in the world would have had to be a part of the conspiracy.

Celestial navigation works by looking at the North Star and gauging where East and West are based on that. For the South it involves finding the Southern Cross.

Quote
i) But hold on - the ancient Chinese had fleets that sailed around the pacific and indian oceans using celestial navigation - and they did this BEFORE they met the Europeans who were doing the same exact thing.   This means that they both, independently, discovered that the world is flat and separately decided to collude on this (seemingly) more bizarre round-earth solution to whatever problem caused them to do this coverup.

The North Star is North in the Flat Earth model. To find the direction of North the Chinese just had to find the North Star. It's the brightest one. Simple!

Quote
j) Now add all of those sailors - not a single one of them came home from years at sea and told their wives and family that there was an enormous cover-up to hide the flat earth?

See above.

Quote
k) The pirates of the caribbean and south seas had to navigate by the stars.  They LOVED upsetting the apple cart.   Why didn't a single one of them expose the secret FE navigation charts and whatever stood in for a theodolite?

See above.

So NASA fakes the possibility of space travel to further America's dominance of space but what about the other space agencies ?

Other space agencies are fake as well, for similar purposes. The quality of the Chinese space agency is especially bad, as an example.

Quote
Are all of these government and space agencies working together to maintain the conspiracy ?

Allied countries work together. Non-allied countries tend to cast doubt and skepticism on each other's space capabilities.

Quote
They are each competing for space dominance and then still collaborating to fake space travel ?

Again, non-allied countries do not work together. China is barred from participating in ISS activities, for example.

Bishop, you aren't serious about that, right? Ever heard of a spherical sky map? The straight lines just don't work.

Woof, you guys need to study a bit of math really. You draw conclusions like a 1-grade boy. Do you have B.Sc degree in anything technical?

Fictitious premise. The sky is not a sphere which things rest against.

Nobulart, your shadows on the 3rd (woman on the beach far right) and 4th pictures (awning shadow far left portion of the house on the right) do not line up with the sun, how can we trust that the lens distortion ... or whatever... isn't so bad that drawing a line from point a to point b on any of them are true to life representations?

I printed out the picture and bent it into a semi-circle.  Bam!  The sun and the woman's shadow lined right up.  I also domed the sky and cut up a line of sticky notes. Bam!  The sun and the moon's shadow line right up.

Following the horizon from the moon to the sun isn't the only straight line between them.  The one that bisects the moon is the true straight line in 3D space.  The rest are illusions.

Here's a pic...   (my dome cutting was off a little, but it's really close  ;))

Unfortunately for this theory the sky is not a sphere which the sun and moon and lines rest against to cause artificial curvature.

also this: http://www.middleeasteye.net/news/deleted-official-report-says-saudi-key-funder-hillary-clinton-presidential-campaign-223282807

nothing about the clinton story is coroborrated.  it's literally just a zerohedge article saying "someone said that saudis give money to the clinton campaign."

Your article is a source in the zerohedge article and backs up what the zerohedge article says exactly. It says that the quotes from the saudi prince were published by two agencies, one of which was taken down, and the other which still exists on the Institute for Gulf Affairs website. A link to the Institute for Gulf Affairs article with the saudi prince quotes that Saudi Arabia funded 20% of the Clinton campaign is provided in the fourth paragraph.

How is it a major scandal if nothing illegal has occurred? A scandal implies that rules were broken.

In contrast, Hillary Clinton actually accepted money from a foreign power for her campaign, which IS a crime.

A crank website claiming this doesn't make it true.

How is it a crank website? The site links to the documents where the information was stated, as well as to another news site which corroborates the events.

Read the literature, Tom, it's all there. I'm not going to do your research for you.

Vladimir Putin himself could email Donald Trump a PDF containing damaging information on Hillary Clinton, and it still would not be collusion.

Favors were not promised, and money was not exchanged, so where is the collusion?

Show us the laws.

Philosophy, Religion & Society / Re: Trump

Please show me exactly what law he broke.

Trump Jr. didn't promise anything, or offer to do anything. Even if this was a direct Kremlin representative (it wasn't), they didn't promise anything or offer to do anything either, apart from show Trump Jr. the information they had gathered.

Receiving information isn't a crime. If it were, then we could spam info at each other to initiate a malicious prosecution whenever we wanted. Sure, there are laws against taking money from a foreign power to finance a campaign. But that's not what we're talking about here. "Collusion" has become this nebulous concept that isn't limited to illegal conduct. Exchanging information isn't illegal, even if it's illegally procured.

The email from Rob Goldstone said that the Russian government supports Trump's candidacy. But that isn't a crime on the behalf of anyone from Trump's camp, and that doesn't mean you need to build a firewall against anyone who might have some alleged ties to all other foreign governments. You can't take money from them. You can't promise them anything in return for their support. But if someone offers to send you free information damaging to Hillary, you don't have to turn them away just because they're wearing a Russian hat.

In contrast, Hillary Clinton actually accepted money from a foreign power for her campaign, which IS a crime.

It's called opposition research, and everyone does it. Hillary's team met with the russians peddling the Trump-Stripper-Pee story. How is this any different?

The problem is that Opposition Research does not allow foreign governments to provide that information.  Especially as support on behalf of said government.

The lawyer in question is not a foreign government agent.
