I dicked around with favicons a bit today and I can't figure out why they won't work. I don't see this as a priority issue, and I am a little bit busy until the 10th, so I'm not going to focus on it right now. I will give it a go every now and then, though, and assuming Parsifal doesn't beat me to fixing it, I'll give it a more serious attempt then.

Can the FEW link be configured to spawn a new tab?  I am lazy and don't like to have to right-click and do it myself.

I have a feeling that if we do that, we'll get people asking us to make it stop doing that.

You could always middle-click. That's a fairly standard thing, right?

We're the Flat Earth Society. Bad publicity is the only publicity we know. More publicity == more newcomers.

Another idea, though I'm not sure how valuable these sort of posters would be, or whether it would work at all, would be for college students among us to create fliers with the site, and the possible Facebook page to get more exposure, and leave them around campus. There's all sorts of bulletin boards around my school with random shit on em.

A high-quality FES poster would be an instant win, as far as I can tell.

Then again, I'm the kind of person that is naturally attracted to fora like this. But hey, it does sound like a great idea!

I'll try my hand at writing! The about blurb and page are about the society, no? And the third bullet is for the site? I just want to be clear on the parameters.

This site is made by the people, for the people. Write whatever you think will do the society and site justice.

Personally, I think the parameters you described sound good, but I doubt either me or Parsifal would want to restrict you (and everyone else)!

Because this went so well last time.

Civ V has hot join mode now. It won't let you host a proper dedicated server, but I wouldn't mind running my laptop 24/7 to act as the host. As such, we could play this in a similar fashion to Conquer Club.

Also, Crudblud's dramatic voice would greatly complement Thork's natural charisma, friendliness, and charm.
Sadly, my accent is poo-poo, but I could help with the graphical side of things, if we were making a video.
