Sometimes though the existing maps aren't accurate enough. Here's some details going into digging the cross-rail tunnels under London. Due to the small gap that the tunnels had to go through, between existing infrastructure and other tunnels, existing maps were found to only be accurate to 20cm per KM in a 3d space due to the curvature of the Earth. So a new co-ordinate system was produced.

https://www.engineeringsurveyor.com/software/1-026%20-%20Topographical%20Surveys%20and%20Mapping.pdf

The following link talks about how engineers and surveyors are attempting to display routes of long train infrastructure on a 2d plane on blueprints. You will probably be interested in figure 1 showing a simplified version of the ratio that has to be applied to convert from one to the other.

To demonstrate the reasons for using the HS2 Snake Projection, imagine a line approximating the route from London to Birmingham. Measuring the line first in British National Grid, and then measuring again in HS2 Snake Projection would reveal an apparent increase in length of 60 metres. In fact, the length of the project on the ground did not change – it is just that the British National Grid is a best-fit for the whole country which means the map distortion is far in excess of what is appropriate for precision engineering required on projects like HS2.

You do realize that this is essentially the same thing as saying that "GPS proves the curvature" like ichoosenonsense claimed, right? It's all done on paper from a mathematical model of the ball Earth. In reality no one has measured the curvature. Ever.

LIGO mention accounting for the earth's curve on their website.
Your response is a predictable "nuh-uh!".

No, my response was what it was.

I would appreciate if you didn't tarnish the thread with your opinions.

Also imagine this ichoosenonsense clown telling construction workers and engineers that they need to do their jobs differently and get new tools because level doesn't mean straight, it means curved because the Earth is "round".
For projects where the deviation would make a difference, like the LIGO project they DO take it into account.  For smaller structures it not only would be difficult and expensive but would serve no purpose so they do not do so.

lol The "LIGO GPS curvature proofsie" card. "GPS is mapped to follow the curve, so the curve exists because we use GPS and it works!". "We accounted for curvature because the GPS says so".  ;D

No, it's not just small structrue. No one accounts for curvature no matter the size of the structure. If you think so provide the blueprints as evidence. Not stories. Real blueprints that we know for a fact were used to build real things.

Question:
When the people manage their land, what kind of system do they use to manage it?  Like disputes or public projects like road construction/patching?  Or water delivery?

Yeah, you just described what government should be for instead of a superstructure that rules over everything tyranically while whispering sweet-nothings into the ears of corporate "journalists" who don't even live there. Thanks for "fact-checking" nothing again.

Don't forget to pay your taxes.

As is often the case with him, this is at best a huge distortion of what the governor actually was talking about.  Which was about ways to prevent developers from rushing in to take advantage of the local people.
https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2023/maui-city-smart-project-state-lands-josh-green/

Yeah, they don't want to allow any free-market nonsense, do they? Gov. and club members only.

Previously the land owners and the people were resonsible for managing their land and now the government is. Thanks for "fact-checking" nothing.

Oh, I forgot the government stooges are the good guys and they no doubt want what's best for the people.

An issue is that the early version of the FE Wiki didn't have as much technical and background information about the terms it was throwing around and expected its readers to have a physics education. Without the background knowledge, people thought that TFES was just making up upwards acceleration randomly and making up terms. To the novice reader it just looked like technobabble.

Today people read the Wiki and don't have that reaction that Eric Dubey and the early Flat Earth Youtubers had. They now learn from its various pages that the equivalence principle is a substantial principle that has been tested in different physical ways by different testing methods in physics to tell us that gravity physically behaves as if the earth is accelerating upwards. They are satisfied with the claim of upwards acceleration and find it interesting.

The early nay-sayers will eventually see the error of their ways when they come back to re-read the material, as some have. It might take someone ten years to come back to it again, but slowly more FE'ers are coming to reject those early criticisms and see that TFES has some valid points to discuss.

If a FE'er reads all of the Wiki and still vigorously dismisses the possibility, it is frankly because they think the Bible said that the earth is motionless (which it did not, imo) and want to adhere to a biblical earth.

As far as I know, Dubay (not "Dubey") never claimed that it's motionless because the Bible said so. In reality it's only a small group of "biblical flat-Earthers" who claim that it's motionless because the Bible said so (and they also make other ridiculous claims such as a transparent tangible dome with water above, pillars that hold the Earth in place, etc.).

Certainly, that's not the case with me or anyone who talks about Etheric or electrostatic gravity. I don't even know if it's motionless or not, because saying that gravity is not caused by Earth's motion is not the same as saying that it absolutely is motionless.

It is known that magnetism acts much in the same way that gravity does (only magnetism is more "selective"). There is an obvious correlation between the two that rocketship-Earthers dismiss because they don't look into magnetism (it's a big pain in the butt for them :-\). Not the real magnetism research, which already proves that there's something more fundamental/metaphysical going on than just pure Newtonian physics or kinetics. In their view magnetism must be a force and yet it is not. In their view gravity must be a force (rocketship-Earthers claim that an unkown force is applied to the Earth by unknown means, even though they can't prove it and they acknowledge they can't prove it) and yet it is not. They also dismiss observable g variations and they refuse to do experiments themselves that confirm or deny said variations.

Oh, and by the way - there is now a new batch of rocketship-Earthers who claim gravity is the Earth moving, but they don't claim that it's accelerating upwards. That said, who knows what their claim is. I don't think they claim anything concrete - it's all just abstract speculation based on outdated Newtonian physics and kinetics and a bit of unicorn dust (dark energy, etc.) sprinkled on top to explain what powers the purported Earth's motion. Although this particular batch of rocketship-Earthers that I'm talking about never talks about what powers the purported Earth's motion. They just say that it moves because it must be moving (according to their limited understanding of physics and metaphysics that they impose on themselves).

What a guy. Has to constantly contort his answers and do constant quote-mining and misrepresentations to make his beliefs work (well, to pretend they work anyway). And dismiss anything that doesn't fit his beliefs.

Imagine 6400 posts of that without getting paid...

lol The "Turning Torso globe proofsie" is one of the most cherrypicked observations in history. It certainly is not proof of curvature. You can even clearly see how it seems to get compressed not only due to perspective but due to atmospheric conditions as well. Otherwise damn, did the curvature do that too?

If things were really following the imaginary exponential curve that globers desperately believe exists, things would gradually tilt exponentially as well along with it. There are zero observations that show any tilt whatsoever. I wonder why?

And also no observations of curvature at sea level that aren't assumptions of curvature directly in front of the observer due to visual phenomena and perspective hehe!

Not to mention that they desperately have to dimiss the many long-distance observations that match FE by saying "it's just refraction" while not undertanding that refraction would ALWAYS have to occur at the exact same rate as the rate of curvature to make a consistent image. Literally impossible in the real world. Only works with math and equations on a white board.  ;D

Oh, and dismiss any of the JTolan observations because that's too high to account for with refraction equations LOL.

The telescope needs to be leveled AT EACH OBSERVATION POINT.

Does anybody know what he's talking about?

Are you talking about moving the telescope?

Is this some AI-generated answer? Sure seems that way when you read the rest of the text.

Reconciliation generally implies that there was some sort of relationship to begin with.  To the best of my knowledge, there has never been any sort of relationship between Eric Dubay and either of the TFES sites, other than Eric accusing TFES (and just about anyone else claiming to be an FE'er) of being controlled opposition, or something to that effect.

I remember signing up for one of his sites some years back and being permabanned within a day or so before I even made a post.

The only part about this that I didn't know is that you got banned within a day and that's the irrelevant part.

I got banned too for saying that gravity is possibly Earth moving.

Nowadays I don't give the moving Earth hypothesis credance because I studied Ether dynamics. And welp, there's no evidence that it's moving. You can only get to that conclusion through an assumption. Albeit it's a very logical assumption.

First off, I'm not affiliated with Dubay in any way.

But it occured to me that quite possibly Dubay is not as paranoid today as he used to be years ago.

So perhaps it would be possible to reconciliate Dubay with TFES? For instance, @Pete Svarrior seems to be a good diplomat.

Maybe just give him a call?

I mean, I'm sure that nobody here hates Dubay... right?

I see that Mr. ichoosemirage has chosen to ignore what I posted before since I already anticipated such "curvature proof" (lol) would be posted.

The globe relies on cherrypicked visual "proofsies" of "boats and things gone over the curve" that can easily be debunked by doing simple observations such as this:

No wonder the globe cult won't touch anything to do with a physical measurement of the curve with a 10-foot pole (only to say that it's impossible or a waste of time because they already know it's a globe). They want to stay on mirage/refraction/perspective (all of which they purposefully misunderstand, by the way) la-la-land for all eternity and just dismiss any of the hundreds (if not thousands by now) of long-distance observations that match FE predictions as "light bending over the curve at its exact rate". Not to mention the fact that no curvature has ever been measured anywhere despite the fact that it should be literally everywhere if Earth is really a globe (and they've had thousands of years to do so according to their own history).

Lots of other videos on that channel as well that prove that visual phenomena have nothing to do with curvature and change depending on conditions.

Too bad for the globe defenders that the main "globe proof" can be so easily debunked.

I'm confused.  Why would anyone elect people to do a job like run the department of housing, if they want to do the job via democratic vote?
Like... most people don't know how to do city planning.  They want things that make no sense or don't actually work.  Like they can look at a huge offramp and go "why is it so big?  Just make it a short, straight line. " all because they don't understand descelleration.

So why wouldn't those people do their job?

Also: when I ask questions and use my brain yo refuse your videos, you call me an idiot and a sheep.  Doesn't seem like your goal is to make people think, unless they think what you think.

What an asanine comment considering the information given in the video and what happened.

Ok, pal. Clearly, you're on the wrong forum again.

All you can do is ask dumb questions and talk about space lasers when 99% of what I'm talking about has nothing to do with space lasers.

So your goal is to, instead of assuming this is a conspiracy, prove it.  Show me developer contracts or demands from the locals who were burned out/killed showing they wanted the land.  Don't just tell me.

It really is not. The goal of what I post is to get people aware & thinking and to do their own research and use their own brain & discernment.

But here's one of the projects. Just one. Plus more interesting info and statements from the people.

You'll have to excuse my poor history of hawaii knowledge.
Why is Lahaina so important?  Or the most important?  And why is it unowned by the state of hawaii like the rest of Hawaii?

You just have to do 2 minutes of research to find the info.

Ok.
So that tells me nothing.
I'm sorry but you haven't established he's a conquror nor have you established a motive.  Half of those reasons only apply if you openly want to oppress people.  And it requires actualky ordering the destruction, not just taking advantage of it.

You can't start with the assumption that someone is an evil conquror, you must prove it.  And thus far I haven't seen him try to take over Hawaii.

Well, of course it tells you nothing. That's expected.

Let's just conveniently forget the fact that Hawaii is all conquered land and Lahaina was one of the important pieces of land (potentially the most important?) that they didn't fully own . And now gov. + the banks & the corps are going to own it all. But that's just life, I guess.

That guy's not top of the food chain anyway. Not even close.
