I preordered one years ago.  It was only $100 which is refundable.

In other words you gave Elon Musk an interest free $100 loan.

Also it was a huge bargain, 50k for a vehicle with I think a 300 mile range, dual motors, around 600 horse power.

Just like how the F-150 Lightning had an MSRP of $40,000 but the real price starts at $60,000 for a bare bones model that they don't seem to actually produce. Similarly, prepare to get screwed by Elon's bait-and-switch tactics.

Correct.  An interest free $100 loan.  In my defense Elon has been very gracious about it.  He personally thanks me every time we meet over the many tens of cents he's made on that loan over these last few years.

The bait and switch is a very real possibility.  On the other hand Tesla may be compelled to give reservation holders the original price for something which should really cost closer to 80k.

I seriously doubt that this will actually get produced.  If it does then I likely won't follow through since I'm not a truck guy.

The design is interesting.  I think it's hideous and cool at the same time.  But for serious truck people I would think they'd be turned off by it just because none of their accessories will fit on this thing.

I'm just speculating here, I think the intel recovered from the first balloon led the way to detecting other surveillance objects and whatever they're using to detect these objects is something the Chinese can modify through a data connection.  So we're trying to not give away what we know and taking down what we can while China is trying to adapt.

Well, look at the bright sides - we will not have to worry about RE'ers claiming that stratellites don't exist for the foreseeable future.

Or, well, the usual suspects will still do it, but hey-ho.

Well, they don't exist now.

Don't worry.  Our nation's youth is trained to handle such things.

Well it's not like they're going to get anything done anyways.  The only important vote is the debt ceiling.  I think that's a year aware.  So really they can do this for about 11 more months and it shouldn't make any difference to anyone.

I have a truth social account and I'm guessing you're right.  I haven't gotten around to checking because Trump's posts are getting a bit boring and predictable.

Elon Musk cares very passionately about free speech. Just as long as he agrees with what you say. Another lousy Republican hypocrite. He's made Twitter a cesspool.

Maybe you should build your own Twitter.

Was this your opinion before Elon took over as well as now?

But what if you end up preventing the birth of the man who killed Hitler!
Nice paradox; Hitler killed Hitler.

That's exactly my point!

Hitler could still be...

Wait...

Shit....

I'm going to have to think about this some more.

The man attempts a coup and the GOP sticks with him.  I don't think a terrible midterm is going to change their minds.

Trump will threaten to run as an independent if he loses the midterm.  The GOP, being basically a party of nihilistic cowards, will give into this demands.

13
Yeah.  It almost makes me a little bitter.  I understand the value of having the best military but good god.  A conflict between the US and Russia wouldn't even be close.  I feel that the military industrial complex has been all to happy to massively overestimate the Russian military for the last 50 years.

14
Incorrect.  It's an epidemic of smoking related accidents inside of Russia.

15
Russia GDP:

ouch ouch

if you were russia, wouldn't you want NATO and the west to think your hurting from sanctions?
They just made $1 billion off grain harvest in Ukie

Actually it's the opposite.  These numbers are probably worse in reality.  Since the war started Russia has been cooking their numbers to make their situation look better than it is.

16
With the US budget exploding Ukraine is about to go bulletless soon. This peacekeeping mission is about over.

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2022/12/ukrainians-real-trouble-bakhmut/

Oh Bakhmut was their true goal all this time?

Well if they want to use any port or vessel covered by this agreement then they'll have to.

They have hundreds of ghost tankers to offload say in Saudi storage to only sell at a premium when oil get scarce soon.

Maybe.  Interesting idea.  Russia produces 11 million barrels a day.  Saudi Arabia has maybe 80 million barrels of storage which are currently in use.  So in order to make this plan work and horde oil through the winter then all Saudi Arabia has to do is add an additional level of storage double the size of the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

Could happen.  They've got a lot of slave labor there.  We'll see.

17
Well if they want to use any port or vessel covered by this agreement then they'll have to.

18
Dear NATO, please take your $60 barrel and purchase many blankets. You're about to go into deep Frosty the snowman state.

Very toasty here in the USA.

$60?
Closer to $85.
But thats Capitalism for ya.

I think he's referring to this.  https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/russia-price-cap-is-dangerous-will-not-curb-demand-our-oil-2022-12-03/

tldr;

The G20(most of them) are requiring any ship or port owned by them or insured by them only transport Russian oil if it's price at $60.

Interesting plan.  We'll have to see what happens.

19
On the downside while they have resorted to s-300s they are nowhere near to running out of them.

Apparently Russia's military is configured to try to counter NATO air power.

20
And for some reason a lot of Western pundits keep cowering in fear of Russia as if the last 9 months didn't happen.

It's like their minds are trapped in 1945.
