To be fair, this might not have a touchscreen, and would therefor be a very terrible tablet.

I believe there is some kind of grease that should be used that helps keep it in place, and also stops the joint from rusting together. It should be the same stuff used on the seat tube. Also, you shouldn't be tightening things past spec. If you don't have a torque wrench, you should get one.

Based on what Tom said, I think they'd have to write a book that gets read to children.

I'm glad that awareness about veganism. But this alone does not solve problems. Vegan food is expensive, less diverse and are hard to reach.  the number of customers are low occurs some of this problem. Increasing the number of the vegans probably makes the foods cheaper and accessible. some of this is relevant caused by the free market economy. community awareness is a must.

I think fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and beans cost the same whether or not you eat meat.

Yeah, he was explicitly not talking about university professors.

For my entire life I've heard teachers complain that they get paid far too little for teaching. They are defended by many as heroes who are educating our children, who gave us our own education, and should be paid highly for this.

But what are teachers, really? At the lowest levels, preschool and kindergarten, teachers are little more than babysitters who read children stories.
At the elementary, middle, high school, and college level the job role is essentially the same. Teachers remain babysitters who merely read children different books, whether it's a story about Martin Luther King, or about the periodic table. Other authors wrote those books, and did the research behind it. The teacher didn't do any of those things. The teacher is simply repeating the teachings of others. Most of the time they have their students do homework from the book and use exam handouts from the publisher (who graciously does not watermark the handouts). So why do they deserve large amounts of money for what is essentially a babysitting job?

In addition, teachers are frankly the losers of academia. Rather than contributing to an academic profession like their respected counterparts, they are reading stories to children. It's pathetic. Why should they be paid highly for that?

And yet he includes College professors in his opening post.

Right because of course colleges and universities are exactly the same thing.

So when a high school student opts to take a college level course offered by their school (for example Calculus), it's not applicable as course credit at university?

Tom is right. All the computer science professors at University were too incompetent to be coding monkeys after they got their degrees, so they had no choice but to get their doctorates so they could make something of themselves.

I have a thermostat. It allows me to set when I want the heating and water on or off. I don't need Google for that.

That's exactly Dave's point. It should be locally hosted.

This pleases me.  BvS was supposed to be a gigantic Avengers-level hit, but it looks like it won't even reach a billion dollars.  I wish they would get rid of Snyder already, but sadly, it's probably too late to replace him for Justice League.  Also:

If this happens, I will laugh and laugh.

The Boss looks terrible, just terrible.

I encourage exercise during fasting, there's no reason to stop whatever you're doing just because you're not eating, and strenuous exertion can suppress hunger.

They could have simply seen the beam go by (it was traveling FTL, so that's cool I suppose) and then one of the background characters could have informed Leia that they've lost contact with all the planets in X system, because FTL communication is a thing in Star Wars.

I think it was convenient that they just happen to blow up every planet in the solar system except for the one Leia was on.

I think she was in a different system.

Couldn't have been. Our nearest star system is 4 light years away. Even if the  system was 4 times closer (the distance from the sun to the Oort Cloud) It would still take a year for the explosions to be seen.

This may be the first Necropost you've made that's actually been relevant.

He probably decided to go on Vacation, and thought his parole officer would be cool with it.

I once directly plugged a transistor directly into the power outlet in my home. I saw the spirit come out of it, and the transistor no longer worked.

In fact, one of the things said by electronics people when something fails catastrophically, is that the "smoke" was let out of whichever component failed.

I've not been a fan of the Conservative party ever since they merged with the crazies in the Reform party. I'm glad they're out, and things in Canada have gone back to normal.

I don't know if he comes here, or to the other site, but he seems to have done his research.
