Flat Earth Theory / More UA and planes
« on: May 10, 2021, 04:48:57 PM »

A while back I was questioning freefall experiences and Tom Bishop gave an answer that worked logically if UA was a thing.   2 current threads on UA got me thinking again and I have a new question. but first, some background as I think I know it.

The air is not pushed up by UA but by the ground compressing the air. A plane flies the same way in FE as it does in RE...   Lift created by the wings.

New question...  if UA does not push the air and the plane flies via lift then why is everything in a plane not weightless?

We are only stuck to the ground in UA because the ground is pushing up.  In a plane, there would be nothing to push up the floor and therefore we would experience weightlessness.

Philosophy, Religion & Society / Biden's Broadband plan
« on: April 21, 2021, 03:24:31 PM »

I saw an article this morning about the planned rural broadband plan, a great idea but dated. Cost of 150 Billion. When StarLink is in full deployment, there will be no need to run fiber everywhere.

According to a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) December 2018 Internet Access Services report, 44 million households do not even have a standard broadband connection, either because they do not have access or can't afford it.

22 billion would buy every one of them a Starlink package and the government could help out with the monthly nut for those needing it. Of course, not all of them need the handout but some do.

Boom, saved 128 billion minimum.

Thoughts?

Flat Earth Theory / Zetetic method vs UA
« on: October 02, 2020, 04:03:53 PM »

Pete and I have discussed this a few times, with his trump card always being something along the lines of proving Einstein wrong.  Something never seemed right about falling vs acceleration and using the Zetetic method I now know why.     Having 920ish skydives and a Master D license,  I can testify that one can't feel freefall.  Terminal velocity ( the result of mass vs drag) feels like floating.  In a run of the mill skydive, one exits the aircraft around 90 mph and over 9 seconds accelerates to terminal velocity.  Basically transitioning from 90ish to 120ish (terminal is not a constant) over 9 seconds is a pretty tame experience.  No feeling of falling   What is the sticking point in my head is that we can feel the acceleration of a jump from a stationary or near stationary start point, hot air balloon, helicopter, cutting away a low-speed malfunction and even stalling the canopy.  You jump out of a balloon and you feel the acceleration.  Not being a fan of negative G, I hated doing stalls.  I can think of no better Zetetic evidence that UA is false.  Pure observation.

Why did I, again pure Zetetic observation, feel the acceleration?    Occam's Razor would say I was falling, not witnessing the earth coming at me.

Flat Earth Media / How High Do You Have To Be To See The Curvature?
« on: September 08, 2020, 08:27:15 PM »

The guy that did this video is very educated about physics.   This video is NOT presented to try and prove flat vs round but is a great explanation of the question.  Its also an entertaining one as it allows you to pan and tilt around.

"SB145 by state Sen. Scott Wiener, D-San Francisco, would remove automatic sex-offender registration for young adults who are convicted of having anal or oral sex with a minor, leaving the decision up to a judge. Newsom has until the end of September to act on the measure."

This idiot Wiener is also responsible for legislation that lowered the criminal penalty for knowingly transmitting HIV from a felony to a misdemeanor.

Suggestions & Concerns / Unread Posts not working
« on: July 02, 2020, 05:27:37 PM »
On the main forum page, clicking the unread posts in the "-Unread PostsFlat Earth Discussion Boards" shows no unread posts but entering "Flat Earth Theory" shows unread posts.

Not earth (flat or otherwise) shattering but annoying.

It works on the bottom 2 and not on the upper two sections.  Odd

Flat Earth Theory / StarLink and data from space
« on: February 27, 2020, 04:57:59 PM »
A few questions about space flight or lack thereof.  I am only looking for opinions as we can't agree on what the facts are.   Yes, question 1 has been asked but I wonder if we can discuss this without insults or Satan coming into play.

1. The StarLink satellites are visible to the naked eye.  What are they?  The number is going up by 60 every 2 weeks or so.

2. If SpaceX does what they are trying or claiming to try to do, and broadband internet is available anywhere on earth between the Arctic and Antarctic Circles how could we explain that without allowing for satellites in orbit?

3.  If NASA and all space agencies are fake where is all the data coming from?  Just in the last week or so a Mars lander allegedly logged hundreds of Marsquakes and a prob discovered that there is way more water in Jupiter's makeup than was thought.  In your opinion, is there an army of people faking huge amounts of data?

Flat Earth Theory / Sirius XM
« on: October 23, 2019, 03:19:46 PM »
I was picking up a friend from AIH airport and sitting in a line of traffic that was under the cover of concrete bridges, overhangs and such.  Just like anytime the sky is blocked for more than a few seconds my satellite radio lost signal.  It never happens when among big buildings unless the southern sky is blocked.  Using the power of observations it seems to me the most reasonable explanation is that the signal comes from very high in the southern sky.  And since no towers exist that could make this work the logical explanation is that there are satellites in geostationary orbits that deliver the signal.

The longest road trip I have taken since I had satellite radio in a car was around 1200 miles.  Not once in that time was the signal weak or sketchy in any way.   (A side point is that the GPS predicted my arrival within 10 minutes door to door.)

What other reason would this happen?

Suggestions & Concerns / Youtube videos?
« on: June 21, 2019, 04:08:13 PM »
It seems some changes have occurred with Youtube links.   It used to be that when you clicked on the embedded video there was the standard YouTube icon on the video that could be clicked to take you to the same video on Youtube.  That way when you view it the vid goes into your history for later viewing.  I tend to watch longer videos on my TV and miss that ability to easily pull up the vids.

I assume that this was done to keep people on the site?

Flat Earth Theory / UA and freefall speeds
« on: October 12, 2018, 03:09:46 PM »
This was discussed in an unrelated thread and I feel it's worth asking again.  How does UA account for objects of differing mass falling at different speeds?  Assuming that the air is either being accelerated or being pushed upwards by the ground then freefall speed based on drag is easy to grasp.  But the fact that an object with equal drag but more mass will fall faster is not easy to understand in UA.

An example, in skydiving there is a training aid called a space ball.  It's a tennis ball with lead shot in it and usually has some ribbon streamers as well.  The speed is governed by the weight of the lead shot.

Thoughts?

Som beautiful shots

Flat Earth Theory / What are satellites?

I am not asking where radio signals come from but what are the visible objects that move across the sky at amazing speeds?  Ones you can track via many apps.

Flat Earth Theory / Perfect experiment
« on: April 20, 2018, 02:15:52 AM »
Check out this video, a leveled green laser is shot across a lake and what would you guess happened when the height of the beam was measured?

Plus a recreation of the bishop experiment to boot.

Plus they had a flat earth guy.

Flat Earth Theory / Meteor Crater AZ
« on: March 12, 2018, 03:20:02 PM »
How would FE explain the presence of an impact crater in Arizona that looks amazingly like the craters on the moon?  If you travel cross country enough you will fly over it.  I have seen it with my own eyes several times.  I have also seen craters on the moon with my own eyes aided by telescopes.

It's almost like they were created by the same process.

Flat Earth Theory / NASA conspiracy
« on: October 19, 2017, 07:04:44 PM »
It makes me a little sad to think how many people say NASA is a fraud.

This is one of the most profound photos ever taken.  Michael Collins took this from the Apollo XI command module.  The LEM with Armstrong and Aldrin and the earth.   It includes every human alive except one.  Collins himself.  How can you not be moved by this?

This was one of the most amazing things mankind has ever done.

Flat Earth Theory / Distance debate based on poll results
« on: August 21, 2017, 02:28:11 PM »
Let's start this here.  I hope we get some reality in this one.

What we know.

1. GPS is a proven technology that in some cases,  is accurate to centimeters and at worst 10 to 15 meters
2. Flight times between destinations are recorded daily
3. Aircraft cruise speeds are known and are filed with flight plans

Here is my first question.  Using the following airline data, how could a flat map possibly allow these numbers?

Origin         Dest                   Miles
Sydney         Santiago           7125
Santiago         Johannesburg   5724
Johannesburg  Sydney      6909

Flat Earth Theory / In FE what are meteors
« on: August 12, 2017, 11:33:10 PM »
I am curious what the FE group says about meteors.  What are they, where do they come from.  Tonight is peak viewing BTW

Flat Earth Theory / More iron clad proof.
« on: August 01, 2017, 04:19:38 PM »
The Flight track system is perfect for showing the holes in FE maps and theory.   Here is another.   You can see the great circle routes flights use in intercontinental travel in the southern hemisphere.   I am still waiting on a rough draft of an FE map that could explain this.

Flat Earth Theory / Deception to prove a point?
« on: May 24, 2017, 08:57:05 PM »
This video claims that the plane is flying at 70,000 ft and you can't see any curvature.  However at the 3:42 mark the altimeter clearly shows 40,400

There are now a few amateur videos out there of the ISS passing the moon.  The p900 has an awesome zoom that has to bee seen to believe it.  Optical 83x, 2000 mm equivalent.  Are these all fake?

There are many amateur photos and videos of ISS taken with telescopes.   Do these not prove it exists or are they all lying?

I have an app called Skywalk on my iPad that shows locations of celestial objects including man-made satellites.   As soon as a new commercial satellite is launched it gets added to the database and you can locate and track it with the naked eye.  Please tell me how this is possible and what are satellites if not orbital vehicles?

Note that many go north south as well as west to east.

I did a search, some FE people say there are satellites and some say there are not.

Flat Earth Theory / Celestial Navigation questions
« on: May 22, 2017, 04:11:32 PM »
This is not in the Wiki or FAQ.  A forum search on "Celestial Navigation" yields no answers.

Celestial Navigation has been used for centuries and it is possible to see the same stars from multiple points in the southern hemisphere at the same time.  People looking South in Australia can see some of the same stars that people looking South in South Africa can see.  The flat earth maps in the Wiki/FAQ all show that these same people would be looking in completely different directions,  in most cases greater than 90 degrees.

This could easily be replicated with cameras mounted to a globe looking south on the 35 degrees south latitude line that passes the tip of Africa and part of the southern coast of Australia.  The do the same thing on a flat surface with any one of the FE maps and point the cameras due south.  It will be painfully obvious why FE maps don't work.

How is this possible?
How does Celestial Navigation work in the southern hemisphere on a flat earth?
