Now that LIGO has detected gravity waves warping space-time on multiple occasions (and once again confirming that Einstein was right), where does that leave UA? In FEH, there is no such thing as gravity, so I'd love to hear a rational explanation for the detected waves.

If the Earth is flat the gravity would be unstable and stuff cannot really orbit the FE well

Flat Earth Theory / NASA can't lie, Earth is round

So many Flat Earthers claim that NASA is lying to us. But in the first place, why would they lie? They don't gain anything from this 'conspiracy' anyway.

Firstly, Round Earth has already been proven true by our ancestors like Eratosthenes. One such case is how Eratosthenes could calculate the circumference of the Earth. As the Earth was round, he was able to measure the shadow of a rod at another location (let's call it location A) as the sun was directly overhead a well at Syene (Which had no shadow). From there he was able to conclude the circumference of Earth.
If Earth was flat (like a frisbee) , then there would be no shadow at BOTH the rod at location A and the well at Syene. Thus, the Earth could not be flat.

These were later proven to be very accurate with the help with modern technology. Firstly, if the Earth was flat, how would the Satellite orbiting Earth go in a full circle? If the Earth was flat, the Satellite would not be able to orbit properly, and will crash into flat Earth (or the other side of the flat Earth)

Next, if the Earth is flat? Why are we the only planet that is flat? Doesn't make sense right?
Gravitational pull will cause the cosmic dust or rocks in space to clump together into a sphere like shape. This is because a sphere has the least surface area to volume ratio and is very stable.
In other words, if the Earth was flat, the gravitational pull of the Earth will be very unstable.

As a 10 year old who is completely logical and studies physics, I am outraged by the fact that you are trying to educate him about this. People say that it is the 'Government's lies' but think about it, if they government was really that corrupted, wouldn't they be exposed by the media or anti-corrupt agencies? Even if all those agencies I've mentioned are also corrupt, there would surely be whistle-blowers by now who would reveal these lies


But there are NO WHISTLE-BLOWERS

You aren't adding anything to the thread, and you very clearly do not understand how basic logic works. This fora is for people to ask questions about FE, not for Re logicians such as yourself to make non-sequiturs and complain. Warned.

In the first place, when we think that the FET is wrong and largely incorrect, what is there to ask?
Logicians or normal people like us have to clarify that doubt with complaints and questions.

If the earth is flat, then tell me how if you fly on a plane from Chile to Sydney it will take 14 hours yet if you fly from Chile to Istanbul it takes 20 hours? Chile is on the other side of the earth apparently if you look at the flat earth map. Shouldn't a flight from Chile to Istanbul be quicker considering it's closer apparently? Please, gain some sense, we're in 2017 and this is what people are going on about still? How about we all look towards stuff like visiting Mars or even the launch of the James Webb Telescope?

Let's address some stuff regarding the vanishing point and horizons

Firstly, Light can be bent by gravity. However, Earth's gravity is RELATIVELY WEAK, compared to the sun and other bigger stars, and thus the bending of light is minimal.

Thus, at any point on the Earth, there will always be a vanishing point

Assuming that the Earth is flat, there will be NO VANISHING POINT. If you were to have perfect eyesight and are able to see infinitely far, you would be able to see many objects until your line of vision is blocked by an object. Thus, if you were to be floating out at sea, you would be able to see the nearest shore and building no matter how far you are away.

But, we can't

Assuming that the Earth is round, your line of sight would end at a certain point. This is true, and is the result of objects becoming smaller as they are further away from you. This effect is called micropsia. This proves the existence of a vanishing point and thus there can only be 1 explanation -- the earth is round

My first thought of all this F.E. "crap" was honestly, stoopid. As spelled, ..correctly? (My humor..) but after months of intense research I've joined the truthers. And I can honestly say if not flat, it's definitely not globular.

Why can't it be a globe?

I watched a 4hr documentary... I imagine most every one of you has seen it.

If you come across it, please link it.

Anyhow, what I don't have the means to do is measure for myself what relations these have on a flat map, or where I can go to observe and study what others have done.

Any info?

Are you asking for our opinion? I am a REr. I would like to see the video to see what you're talking about, first. Then, calculations should be done to see if it could work on a Flat Earth. If not, there's evidence the world isn't flat, basically.

I'm new to the site but have spent a bit of time at this point reading the wiki, FAQs, and other stuff. I understand that FEers think NASA and the other space agencies have faked everything up til this point, but why can't we go into space? All of the "science" FEers have presented doesn't prevent us from going into space, at least from what I've read so far.
The only possibility is the dome stuff, which then becomes who built it and what is it made of?
Can anyone answer this?

Besides most of you guys are quoting from the Flat Earth wiki and do not truely understand what it means. And before anyone jumps to conclusion how the Earth is flat or 2 Dimensional I suggest looking from the other point of view, and check if the proof that the Earth is  3 Dimensional and spherical is logical (Well I find it perfectly logical as well)

You have to look from both points of views before jumping to conclusion that the Earth is flat

If the world is a 3D object and you still call it a flat Earth, it isn't!
Unless you are saying that the Earth looks like a really flattened Cylinder, which is impossible as there would still be stuff at the side (The height) of the cylinder!

So flat Earthers actually believe that the Earth is 2D

But... If you think that the Earth is 3D, you are contradicting yourself and this the Earth is not truely flat

Ok I've a few questions about flat Earth
1)What is the VOLUME of Earth?
2) If the Earth was flat, why would the shadow of the Earth as seen on the moon at night be curved?
3) Explain why when you walk straight from any given point on Earth you end up in the same place and not topple off the plane of the "2-dimensional" Earth once you reach the edge and instead RETURN BACK TO THE SAME POINT
4) Explain mountains. If the Earth was really flat, there would not be mountains protruding out of the surface of the Earth
5) Explain why a 10 year old is smarter than a bunch of people like you who think the Earth is flat
6) Lastly, if the Earth was flat and you would detonate a bomb on Earth, explain why is there not a HOLLOW HOLE in the Earth.
7) Explain why ONLY EARTH is flat and not the sun
Explain why gravity exists
9) Explain why there are 24 TIME ZONES. If the Earth was flat, there would only be 2 TIME ZONES (and if any of you are thinking that day and night is considered a time zone, explain why the sky does not turn bright / dark suddenly and it takes 8 minutes to do so)
10) Lastly, explain why the ISS is able to see the Earth in different perspectives. At one point the ISS would not be able to see Earth AT ALL as a 2D object has no width and cannot be seen at certain angles

Properties of a 2D Object
Can be formed on a screen (Cannot be formed in space as space is not a screen)
Has no height and cannot be seen from the side
Is flat (Nothing can protrude out of the surface, like a 2D object)

Well if you can answer these questions and prove to me that the Earth is flat (using CORRECT logic), I will join you guys and become a flat-earther
