I don't think it's fair to describe RET as *faith* in science - while it applies to some people (including several vocal posters here, who believe in RET without understanding it), it is more common that people believe the findings of science because they stand up to their scrutiny. This is distinct from faith, which encourages the avoidance of scrutiny, or even prohibits it as a taboo.
I also have no idea where "the LEFT" is coming into all this. There are plenty of right-wing scientists, plenty of left-wing religious people, and RE'ers and FE'ers alike come from all paths of life.
