Title: Should we take members?
Post by: Tom Bishop on January 13, 2014, 04:59:30 AM
Should we take members for the Flat Earth Society? Or everyone who has signed up to the forum already be a member?

If we should take members, what special things should we offer?

Well, I certainly wouldn't want to consider TK to be a member of the Society. There should certainly be a difference between societal membership and having an account on a public forum. That said, I don't know what privileges could come with the distinction. I'd like to say we could give everyone a shirt or something, but we don't have the money.

You are retarted.

I'd like to do memberships, but at the moment I still don't feel like we are the official flat earth society. We aren't out there in the public domain. For me, I'd like to wait until we are established and think we need to get a few other things done first.

To that end, I'm not going to oppose such a thing, but I will abstain. If the vote is tied 2-2 I suggest we postpone it until we are more 'official'.

I'm with Thork on this.  Let's get some exposure, then we can start talking about having members.

I'm good with that. I suppose that's a majority vote, then.

The Zetetic Council has spoken.

We are going to take a rain check on membership.

So it is written, so it shall be done.

We will be extremely diligent in implementing this decision.
