Anyway, bursting ducks. What do they expect when they buy crap that was made in Taiwan?

Just to cap off the weirdness is their suspicion that the duck may have been attacked by eagles.

Is there something about having (PRO) China as an overbearing neighbour which makes your country weird?

I like them too. If I was going to Taiwan, I'd probably include them in my "to see" list.
