Arts & Entertainment / America is the Best Yet Again

Most golds and blew out the total medal count.

Our concession to the rest of the world will be to keep American football going. It simply wouldn't be fair to unleash our best athletes on the world's game. WW3 would happen instantly since literally no one could compete.

Philosophy, Religion & Society / President Joe Biden
« on: February 04, 2021, 04:51:09 PM »
I thought it may be useful to have a thread to discuss current events of the Biden administration without being drowned out by debating/rehashing the results of an election that was decided a long time ago. In the spirit of that idea, unless there is some new story that comes out about the election/fraud, keep the discussions on whether you think Biden is actually President or not out of this thread.

Biden signed a bunch of EOs undoing the policy set by the Trump admin. The current hot topic is the next covid relief package. Looks like student loan debt relief has been kicked down the road until summer or later. Also Pete Buttigieg is in charge of the trains now.

On the notion of Hunter Biden...

A couple of months ago, the NY Post had their Twitter account banned for breaking the story about crackhead Hunter Biden traveling the world and grifting on his dad's last name. No real reason was given for the ban, but news media as well as social media suppressed the story in an obvious attempt to keep the story from hurting Joe Biden's election chances. Seems they learned from last time when Comey came out about the Hillary email story just before the election and likely tipped the scales to Trump.

Back when the story broke, Hunter's business partner made a statement saying Joe Biden was also in on the scheme. The story was effectively buried and 69 50 members of the intelligence community signed a letter saying it looked like a rUsSiAn dISiNfOrMatiOn campaign.

Anyway, fast forward to now, turns out crackhead Hunter has been under investigation for a couple of years. It looks like Hunter may be in some rather serious legal trouble. I imagine a special council will be appointed prior to Sleepy Joe's inauguration and Joe himself has made it a point to say the DoJ will operate independently and free from political influence. Maybe Joe will pardon Hunter and then resign his post so Kamala can take her rightful place as co-person of the year President.

Philosophy, Religion & Society / Vote Bernie Out In 2024

If he isn't dead by then, anyway. This should make totallackey happy, but I am unequivocally renouncing any support for Bernard. I mostly gave up on him after he endorsed rapist Joe Biden, but missing a rather important amendment vote is the proverbial straw.

Also Dianne Feinstein can get fucked. Good job making Rand Paul look like the sane one in congress, dipshits. Guess it is time to go full Libertarian or AnCap.

Neolibs, shitlibs, (basically anyone who identifies as a liberal) don't @ me and also get fucked.

edit - Saddam started the unhidden spoiler train so there are spoilers below.

Before Saddam repeats the complaints he read about the movie as if they were his own opinion, I am here to tell you it is worth a watch.

If you were butthurt over Episode VIII, you will probably still be butthurt, but this one at least isn't like that one (even though that one was actually fine tbh).

This one is a nice predictable mashup of Episodes I through VIII all rolled into one. It has everything: lore / nostalgia / fan service, a little bit of originality, but it all comes back home at the end of the day. There really isn't a whole lot more than that. How many ways can you really tell stories about ships blowing up shit and people fighting with laser swords amirite?

But Rotten Tomatoes has a bad "critic" score and a really good audience score. That means 420.69% of the time it is an enjoyable thing to watch.

Technology & Information / should junker waste money?
« on: December 12, 2019, 08:46:04 PM »
After having saved so much money buying a reasonably spec'd gaming PC, I want to throw some money away. Should I buy the Valve Index kit?

Pros:
- It is amazing.
- It would force Rushy to buy one.

Cons:
- $999 for a box that straps to your head with a couple fancy joy cons.

Arts & Entertainment / Hellboy
« on: April 13, 2019, 12:33:52 AM »
So I just watched this. It was bad. As in, not good.

But also it's worth watching because of what's her face from resident evil, the Asian guy from Lost, and the guy who bangs Sandra Oh in sideways.

The guy playing Hellboy is actually what I hate the least. The preview soured me since I wanted the Perlman/Del Toro vision to reach finality. But fuck man, it's just not good.

It's all CGI shit, lacking the absolutey human cinematic perfectness of this scene:

Anyway, it sucks but Hellboy himself is good. Probably worth a watch. Two weeks until End Game so focus on that.
