What do you think of when people say that Low Pressure weather systems rotate differently in Australia or South America, compared to States or Europe or Russia. Above the 'equator' Counter-Clock-Wise and below the 'equator' Clock-Wise.

They say it is because of Northern and Southern 'hemisphere', but on a Flat Earth there is no such thing. Anyone can explain?

Anyone? Also if you can help me find a Low where this doesn't work that helps too. Let me share examples. A Hurricane/Typhoon/Cyclone is simply a colloquial name for a Low Pressure System that has deepened enough to be called a ... Hurricane/Typhoon/Cyclone depending on where you live.

Five above Equator:
Irma - CounterClockWise
Andrew - CounterClockWise
Katrina - CounterClockWise
Haiyan - CounterClockWise
Isabel - CounterClockWise

Five below Equator:
Debbie - Clockwise
Marcia - Clockwise
Yasi - Clockwise
Gita - Clockwise
Winston - Clockwise

Images:
Hurricane Irma - CounterClockWise

Hurricane Andrew - CounterClockWise

Hurricane Katrina - CounterClockWise

Typhoon Haiyan - CounterClockWise

Hurricane Isabel - CounterClockWise

Five below Equator:
Cyclone Debbie - Clockwise

Cyclone Marcia - Clockwise

Cyclone Yasi - Clockwise

Cyclone Gita - Clockwise

Cyclone Winston - Clockwise

Isn't the Equator just a reference line and not the middle of the two ‘hemispheres’ like a Round Earth? Yet the examples above show that there is a serious difference and the Equator appears the dividing line.

Thoughts?

It's not just low pressure zones - Foucault pendula also go the opposite direction South of the equator.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foucault_pendulum

The five major ocean gyres rotate one way in the North, and the opposite way in the South.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ocean_gyre

The trade winds and westerlies similarly show opposite rotations between North and South.

That is a fascinating simple experiment. Can one of the fellow FE-ers please go and have a look? There are 150 in the U.S. alone, so one must be near you
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Foucault_pendulums. I live in Australia, but not very close to one. (Australia is very big)
It would provide empirical data to add to the theory

This one is in California

I was lucky as I was booked on a commercial flight out of Darwin Sunday. On Saturday all flights were cancelled, but Sunday things were back to normal.
