Political compass
« on: March 07, 2015, 09:53:21 AM »
There were a few threads about this on the old site. For those not in the know, the Political Compass is an attempt to engineer a test that maps political beliefs onto a two-dimensional graph. It's far from perfect, but I find it interesting to see how my views have changed over the years.

I just took this again for the first time in four years, and apparently I'm drifting slowly to the right:

Compare with my previous result from 2011.

Pretty much the same as my previous results.

I'm not sure how accurate this is. How would I end up right in the middle? It makes me the least extreme person so far. I'd have expected a graph like Blankos.

Oh, I've seen this before. I won't bother doing it again but I can tell you I am maximal authoritarian. Last I checked it put me right by Hitler and Romney.

I think this matches how I perceive myself pretty accurately.

You also seem to have made exactly the same move as me, albeit in a slightly different place on the compass.

Also, I am the most libertarian person here so far. FES literally wants to live in a dictatorship.

Where's the "No opinion" option? I can't do this test.

Well, I did my best. On the questions which I didn't have a definite opinion on, I just randomly clicked agree or disagree. What else could I have done?

I hope that site reports IP addresses of extremists to the NSA and GCHQ. I always thought your political ideologies were far out and dangerous. You are a militant anti-establishment vegetarian anarchist.  >:(

As long as you're in the green area, you aren't a sociopath. Thork is a possible exception.

Yeah, a bit too many hippies. But I've always said I'm a moderate who leans a bit more to the left because I'm not racist, not religious, and think abortions should be legal. I still love a sexy right winger though, but I blame that on growing up in the south. Sexy, manly, country boys are always right.

Racism, religion, and abortions have nothing to do with being on the right spectrum because the right spectrum only represents your economic views.
Yeah, you're right. I'm lumping them in together since I'm thinking of just a stereotypical right/left.

I'm a libertarian because of those things, but I'm not too far over on the economic spectrum.

At the risk of being off-topic... this is what I got when selecting "Strongly disagree" for each option.

This quiz seemed a lot more opinionated in its questions than others I've seen. I think it used general trends from opinions irrelevant to politics to place people.
