They are, just not for desktops.  Know why?  Because windows is what most people know and training both users and IT staff to use Linux is harder than just going with Windows.
Incorrect. Companies use OSX (my company being a prime example) and they don't care that new staff need training. But Linux doesn't enter into it.
Name six that use OSX as their only OS. (not including Apple)
No massive company will have 100% Apple the same as no company will have 100% PC.

But below are 6 prolific Mac using corps.

Cisco -now have over 35,000 macs.
CBS
Pixar
Google
Viacom
IBM

As for companies that are huge, millions of companies use macs - anyone developing apps and phone software, games companies, graphic design companies ...

Give me 6 multi-national firms that issue Linux to employees as the predominant desktop platform.

Google and IBM both use Linux. Fuck, Google's own operating systems are Linux based. Try again.
They use a lot of Macs. They just do. I don't need to try again. they issue huge amounts of staff Apple Macs.

Clearly you know a lot about Google. Roughly what percentage of Google employees use a Mac as their primary workstation?

“There was a time when Macs were a small part of the Google fleet,” Google system engineer Clay Caviness said, “but as of now if you start at Google and want to use a platform other than Mac you have to make a business case.”

So, anyone want to offer 6 blue chip companies (non-Linux manufacturers) that make their staff use Linux as a primary desktop OS?

So no major corporations are switching to desktop Linux as a primary tool. Thanks.

If you are going to DebOOonK an expert then you have to at least provide a source with credentials of equal or greater relevance. Even then, it merely shows that some experts disagree with each other.

again, they aren't rolling it out as the main desktop platform though, because it is unviable.

no one would comment on the OP. some Linux-fanboys decided they'd rather talk about how great Linux was. I believe you started that.

Amazingly, you two are making Thork look smart. "Linux adopters" are not necessarily companies who have decided to use Linux for the majority of (or even a significant number of) their standard workstations.

And how should it be defined?  A company that uses 100% linux computers?  Because that's just not realistic.

Apparently governments only spy on Windows users because no other OS seems to be worth the bother.

The answer is yes, your government and every other government in the world (yes, literally all of them) is at least attempting to spy on you. How much you give them depends on what you do and using Windows is probably a good way to tell them everything.
