I have a number of issues with Tom's premise.

There are a number of problems with Tom's premise, first and foremost being that evidence simply doesn't agree with him. Productivity is going up while wages have stagnated. Automation is increasing, and if anything we've seen inflation not deflation. If Tom is right, then why does everything seem to be going in the complete opposite direction?

Not so, we are already seeing deflationary issues. The FED base rate has been at unprecedentedly low levels for years despite money printing on a scale that is unimaginable. Inflation remains "stubbornly" low. Stagflation/deflation has coincided with automation that really took off since the last financial crash. Algorithms since 2008 have started to appear everywhere ... it has begun.


The guy above makes lots of interesting points, but he's young and naively thinks we'll all end up enjoying automation with the wealthy looking after everyone.
