How did you become a Flat Earther?

I believe God brought about circumstances that moved my life in a direction that led to discovering FET, I was already Geocentric as I could not reconcile the scripture record with the Heliocentric model. Then after watching a show on Antartica on youtube, I read "the earth is flat" in the comment section and I realised that the cosmology was much closer to the Biblical narrative so I rang up my Minister and told him I now reject Copernicanism and that move had me swiftly silenced and eventually ejected from the church.

For the Biblically minded FEers if you dig far enough you will drop into Sheol.
Go further still and you will reach the waters of the great deep.
I pray none of us will ever confirm this as its a one way trip.

I'm calling it now - they'll shoot a gritty, grounded movie that downplays the capeshit elements heavily,

All this dark gritty realism, its so 2010's,
What we really need is a Batman The Musical version.

We made the mistake of trying to be nice to him early on. Turns out he thinks we're part of the conspiracy,
Mr Dubay considers all who do not conform to his particular philosophical worldview to be controlled opposition.
On religious conviction's he makes a good athiest, but he is not a racist per say, he hates everyone equally.

I don't see him as a money grabber, sure, he wrote a book and had an insurance payout once for an injury.
I think he is a sincere man who hates institutionalised religion almost more than he hates round earth.

Flat Earth Theory / Re: Moon Landing?

I would worship FEers that believe the Moon Landings were real.
Would you also worship visitors from other galaxies?

The reasons for the moon landing hoax are more complicated than just deceiving the world about the shape of the earth. As with everything in life, there were other factors involved, including a Cold War.

Let's say I absolutely love god. I've got the scriptures, I've read them all, I love my creator.
Does that mean He actually made everything including the 'dome'? Of course not.

If you thought this way you would believe God created the world,

Why would they waste energy on allowing people to talk to a "fake" radio channel,

Why wouldn't they waste energy on that? Its not like they can appear in public.

My name is Jacob a new member to the F.E.S.

Hi Jacob, welcome to the forum. :)

This is a public forum so it may be wise to remove your last name, you can do this by using the "modify" on your original post. I am taking it at face value that you are sincere in your FE enquiry and that you are not a new alt of some kind (I've been wrong before) Just don't share too much personal infomation on this site because, like I just said, its a public forum ect,,,

Flat Earth Theory / Re: The FE concept
« on: March 12, 2018, 08:30:57 AM »
Look, I may well be banned for stating the blatantly obvious, but the reason is religious fundamentalism.

A Christian FE view:

Sorry to burst your bubble Scroogie, but the Fundies arn't interested in FE.
And either are the Young Earth Creationists, they hate us too, just read all the anti FE material they produce.
They are terrified of being tarred with this brush, it might ruin their street cred.

So what kind of person takes an interest in FET? Well its mostly the Truthers.
And yes there are Christians involved but its not the movers and shakers.
From what I can gather from talking to them, its the ordinary joes who arn't to proud to be foolish.
Who read the bible and see that the earth is described as fixed and stationary. And say OK.

I believe Flat Earth has made me much less Fundamental, losing your church can do that to you.
Ordinary people pay the price for believing in FE, you can keep all the Pharisees, they are not interested.

China's 9.5 ton space station, Tiangong-1, will come falling from space.

Aww Great,
More things to worry about, its probably gonna hit Australia again.
I had vivid nightmares the night Skylab fell, kept thinking it was crashing into our house.
Is this thing (Tiangong-1) Nuclear? Do we need to worry about that too?

Layby on the Neon today with Mario Odyssey and Zelda.
Mario Rabid comes as a freebie, also got a tempered glass protector.

8 weeks away from pickup, this thing is an expensive guilty pleasure.
Looking forward to Darkest Dungeon Crimson edition when it lands late April.
Luckily, I've never played it, should look great on the switch.

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead,
I'm just wondering how the switches are holding up one year on.

Also, what games would you recommend? (BOTW and MO are givens)
I hear its a good idea to use a screen saver, are your screens scratched from the dock?
Do you use it more in portable mode (thats what I'm planing to do)

When I first saw the switch my immediate thoughts were "nahhhh"
But now I'm seriously considering joining the urban hipsters on their "game wherever" odyssey.
Because the idea of lying in bed playing splatter 2 really appeals to my sense of laziness.
Plus, the thing just looks really cool...

If the earth is the center of the universe and NOT a planet as stated above, does that mean extraterrestrial life in the FE idea is also not possible?

Depends on your underlining FE worldview, some FEers believe there is endless possibility within the infinite plane for other worlds and life forms. I myself, see this current world as a closed system with a firmanent, designed by an Inteligent Creator God, with stars and galaxies given as lights for times and seasons.

So you get both types of FEers and even more than that, but, as with everything in life.
There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.
