It doesn't matter if abortion is morally bad, it's still necessary because it's the most effective method of population control. Unwanted children are statistically a massive burden to society.

The Terrorizers (Edward Yang, 1986)

This one's a self-reflective multi-narrative that hints at the likes of Antonioni and Altman, but with Yang's trademark style of restrained storytelling at the forefront. He captures detachment, disillusionment and the lack of control in one's own life within the story's interconnecting plotlines, culminating in a loose-form narrative that is satisfying but challenging to grasp. His directing, as usual, is nothing less than stellar. The way he manipulates space with his camera and utilizes urban landscapes in his storytelling really makes him one of a kind. And his shot compositions, god damn.

My initial reaction after watching the film was that I didn't fully understand everything the film had to offer, followed by a desire to watch the film again. This kind of quality where a film compels you to revisit and explore its secrets is something that to me happens so rarely that it's very noteworthy. As such, it's difficult for me to give a rating at this point - right now it's a cautious 9/10, but I could very easily see it climbing up to 10/10.

What is the purpose of this split and why does it contain several completely on-topic posts?

Perhaps a better question is whether or not people are against the change. That's two people for the change already, and if nobody has an issue with it, we might as well go ahead with it.

Doesn't say that it would be after she picks her judges, but fair enough - maybe it's more likely he's talking about the collective lobbying power of second amendment supporters dissuading her, but I still find the notion that he's talking about assassination absolutely ludicrous. It seems to me like a complete fabrication by the left to paint all gun owners as potential murderers.

That is you reading in to things unless you have seen something I haven't. Every news report I have seen is about what a boor Trump is, not what the Gun Right's Supporters would do in such an instance.

Of course they don't say it directly, but they do want to create the mental association "gun owner = potential assassin" in the reader. Trump never said anything about assassination, so the idea that these "second amendment people" could possibly assassinate Hillary must have come from the reporters themselves.

in retrospect i agree the horrible day is in reference to hillary's potential sc nominee, but in the other bit i don't see how he could possibly be talking about second amendment supporters as a voting block.

"...if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don't know."

if there's "nothing you can do" after she picks her judges, then i don't understand how he could be talking about voting blocks.

He specifically mentions that it would be a horrible day if Hillary gets to put her judges in, which wouldn't happen if she didn't get elected. Likewise, if you choose to believe Trump is implying she might get assassinated, the same holds true: it will only be a "horrible day" if the second amendment people don't get involved at all. So what relevancy do they bear in this scenario?

why would it be a "horrible day" if second amendment supporters decided the election?  and which election is taking place after the supreme court nomination, for which there is "nothing you can do," that second amendment supports could affect?

It wouldn't be, and there is no election.

Can you clarify your line of questioning, please? I seriously don't understand what you're trying to get at.

Considering he was talking about a hypothetical where Clinton won the election this actually requires more tap-dancing. I mean, why not just encourage -all- his supporters to decide the election. What, other than the enthusiasm for bearing arms, makes 2nd amendment supporters worth singling out?

He was specifically talking about the second amendment at the time, was he not?

Because Trump has a history of saying terrible shit.

So that means everything he says in the future must be terrible. Sure.

Yes, when Hillary was called Hitler by conservatives and Berners.

It happened first with Trump, but I guess that doesn't count?

played for about an hour last night before i went to bed.  wandered around starting planet, collected some shit and fixed my ship, then spent about 15 minutes in my ship.  it's ok so far.  my biggest complaint is that it so far feels like the game is...i dunno, crafting just for the sake of crafting, if that makes any sense?  i mean i guess that's technically true of any video game with crafting in it, but this kinda feels like crafting is the game, and everything else is just facilitating that.  like minecraft has lots of crafting, but the crafting facilitates construction and creativity and the rest of the stuff that the game is about.  this feels kinda like crafting is only going to facilitate CRAFTING LVL 2 ITEMS so that i can then build the shit i need to CRAFT LVL 3 ITEMS OMG and so on and so on.

but i'm only an hour in, so that obviously could all change very rapidly.  just my initial impression.  i think in general i may just be getting crabby toward "create your own lore!" games.  i don't wanna create my own lore in a video game.  i want to explore your world, not write it.  i suck at writing.

That seems to be my general impression from the gameplay footage I saw as well, but it's also worth noting just how long gathering takes in this game. I watched a streamer mine the same node for ten straight minutes and then move on to the next node to do the same thing. And that's essentially what your entire objective boils down to, you mine minerals so you can go mine better minerals.

I dunno, it looks like it gets dull really, really fast. Even the actual space travel parts seem to be there just to fast travel between planets. Sure, it's cool that you can do that seamlessly, but it's nothing you couldn't do from a menu, and that's pretty depressing.

Did CTR infiltrate FES as well? Hillary's law-breaking is not up to question, as per FBI's own findings and Comey's admission. She's violated, at the very least, the following statutes:

18 USC §793
18 USC §1924
18 USC §798
18 USC §2071

If the deal is that the consumer, in exchange for their money and time, gets a free copy of the finished game[...]

That's what early access releases are, at least on Steam. You pay a discount price for an unfinished product and get the finished product when it comes out. You're not really paying to test the game, in fact in most cases I believe testing isn't the main motivating factor for developers at all - rather, they use early access releasing to fund development without having to rely on investors or compromise vision. It's a pretty effective way to bring independent development to the scope of big studio productions.

The only real risk for the customer is that there's no actual guarantee that the game will ever be finished, but it's still a much better system than Kickstarter where products are sold purely on concept alone. Early access at least is proof of concept.
