If I point a sextant at the north star and read its elevation from the horizon, I will get my latitude, known and used for navigation for hundreds of years.

When sighted at the equator, it will be on the horizon, elevation 0, matches latitude on RE.

If the north star is 3100 mi over the north pole on FE, then the triangle says it is at an elevation of 26 degrees. On FE, seeing it on the horizon means it is on the surface of the earth at the north pole.

Does anyone have an FE explanation for this?

That's why they call it TRIangulation!

I doubt any FE will reply. Conspiracy, applying laws of physics incorrectly, change the subject, descend into ever tinier details until the discussion trails off, or simply refuse to answer.

No actual answers that correlate with known reality.

Also, since you have abandoned the "surrounded by Antarctica" model, you have no ice wall to keep the water in.

What's up with the edge, NASA patrol, fall off, or advanced physics not yet known that cause instantaneous pop up to the opposite edge?

The science is complete bs. Consider that at the same moment, people at longitude 0 seeing sun on eastern horizon, at 90 sun directly overhead, at 180 sun on eastern horizon, and at 270, no sun at all. Impossible on a flat plane with a dome over it.

Come here if you want to study evasion, tribal delusion, bias confirmation, motivated reasoning, etc. This isn't about scientific accuracy.

This is about people feeling they are the brave pioneers of new truth, special, smarter, break free.

I have never seen a FE map with a scale. If I did, I would immediately start measuring known distances. Willing to take all bets I would find they are wrong. If RE, no FE map will ever have the right distances per Gauss's theorem.

On the UN/polar projection map most often shown, you can easily see that Australia is about half again the width of USA. Odometers, geodesic surveys, google maps, a bajillion sources agree the US is 3000 mi wide and Australia is 2700.

Good luck getting a FE to admit they don't have a map or show you one.

Small map equals small distortion, unnoticeable and unimportant. Large flat map has choice of distortion, but can never be right without some disto0rtion, the distances can never be accurate. I have never seen a FE map with a scale to check the distances.

Show me a map of the entire world, flat, no missing parts, with a scale and accurate distances.

For example, in mapping Australia on a flat map you have two choices, either make Australia the wrong size or the coasts have the wrong longitude.

Feel free to show me a FE map with correct distances everywhere. I bet you my entire net worth you never will.

If the sun directionally beams light down, seems like right after sunset, if it is still up there after sunset, I should be able to see the beam, much as you see the beams of searchlights. Right after sunset, I see light from across much of the horizon, although it does not look like it is being projected from above. Shortly after that, disappears completely. Why do I not see what looks like a distant searchlight in the sky pointing down? I can see stars across the entire dome, so I know I can see that far, and the sun is way brighter than those stars. Even if it is not pointing at me, why don't I see the beam, and why doesn't it gradually recede?

If what I see matches RE perfectly, but whatever atmospheric distortions make it look different than it really is, is it the greatest coincidence in history that those unacknowledged distortions make the true flashlight sun look just like the RE sun?

At the exact same time, people at 4 positions on earth longitude 90 degrees apart will see sun on eastern horizon, sun directly above, sun on western horizon, and no sun at all.

Can someone show me on a FE map how people at 0,0 0,90 0,180, and 0, 270 can all see the sun at those angles at the same time? I got vectors pointing in wildly different directions.

What am I missing here?

It seems to me that an accurate FE map would be useful and would certainly prove FE.

How would a FEr make a map? What data to collect how?

Is there any practical way to make an FE map, perhaps it is impossible?

Given airliners, internet, gps, etc etc etc, it seems technically possible to make an accurate map.

Why has a map with correct distances and a scale not been produced?

Can't resist, you came up with an explanation of magnetic compass.

On RE, the shortest route when traveling heading 0 or 180 is a straight longitude line. Mag compass with correction, gyrocompass and straight line on map all match.

How in your world, does the gyrocompass also bend around correctly to match your needs?

Do the airlines and aviation agencies map airline routes with radar and gps?

Does their data match RE or FE?

Do FErs agree that the DirecTV web page that tells you the altitude and azimuth to point your satellite is true, that is to say, when you point your dish there, you get a signal?

If I take the elevation angle from two different places and know the distance, can I calculate the actual location of the transmitter I am receiving?

If I take a third location and plot that vector, what does it mean if they don't all intersect at the same place?

Oh, sorry, I didn't realize the author knew his map was wrong.

By saying "this is just a placeholder", you are escaping falsifiability, science must be falsifiable. We can't say whether your model is correct until we know what it is.

 Come back to me when the author has the right map, with a scale.

So I started watching your video and got as far as your map. I had to pause the video and look at that map, as questions immediately arise.

What is the scale? How long is a mile/km?

A ship leaves San Francisco and sails west. What happens?

Where does a compass in Mexico City point?

I have flown from San Francisco to Beijing, they showed us a map of a route across the pacific, what was the route on your map? Also flew from Sydney Australia to San Francisco. How?

On your map, Australia is wider than USA, yet maps, google earth, people's odometer readings, every proof point ever says USA about 3000 mi, Australia is 2700 mi. ?

A pilot flying straight south, heading 180 degrees, would fly in a straight line. On your map, this would only happen on 0 degree longitude, all other would fly a curved path, where the shortest path towards the south pole appears to cut across curved longitude lines willy nilly. Is that the shortest path, and do ship captains, airline route planners, and programmers at gps navigation equipment manufacturers understand this?

Many more questions, but as soon as you answer all these satisfactorily, I will watch another 30 seconds and ask questions about that bit.

At the antarctic circle, the sun will be exactly at the horizon at noon on winter solstice at midnight, it will look like a brief partial sunrise then goes back down. Closer to the pole, more days on either side of solstice the sun will not come up. Move towards the equator, and around the solstice, days will start in mid-morning and end mid-afternoon. Check the sunrise/sunset times for places at various latitudes, try south pole, McMurdo, Punta Arenas, and Singapore.

At the equator, days are quite uniform. The farther south or north you go, the more the change in day length by season. Close enough to the poles, and at solstice, the days (summer) and nights (winter) are 24 hours.

Endless documentation by personal report, scientists, explorers, tourists, military, airliners go over the north pole, etc, streaming video, textbook diagrams. All matches - observation, theory and RE geometry.

On FE, requires conspiracy and/or new or different laws of physics.

Gotta call this one for RE.

A group of hams builds satellites and is getting the next one launched by SpaceX:

Hams make their own computer controlled antennas, very directional, point them where the satellite is published as being, and talk to someone far away who is also pointing his highly directional antenna at the satellite. There are pages and pages of web sites and youtube videos of hams showing how to build a satellite radio and showing them talking to satellites. All this only works geometrically if there are transponders at 250 mi altitude traveling the orbital path. This all makes perfect sense on RE.

How does this work on FE?

FEs say we can accelerate towards the speed of light (to make gravity) forever because special theory of relativity and never quite get there. So Einstein is right and valid? Einstein also said, and presented math, checked by millions, that predicted that when you approach the speed of light, your mass becomes infinite. So we must be close to the speed of light by now, within a fraction of a percent. Either we should be extremely massive, Einstain was wrong, or the RE is correct. Am I wrong on this?

On FE at night, the sun is still up there but we can't see it. At night, I can see stars all over the sky, so wherever the sun is, I can see the stars right through it. They are dim and the sun is bright. How can this be?

If you point a sextant at the north star above the equator, the angle it reads out is equal to your latitude. At the equator, the angle would be 0, equal to latitude. appearing on the horizon. On flat earth, you would be looking parallel to the surface and seeing the north star on the ground at the north pole. If the north star is 3100 miles up and the distance from equator to north pole is 6250 miles, then we have a right triangle with sides of 3100 and 6250. A triangle calculator shows the angle as 25 degrees above the horizon.

How can this be?
